His defense lawyer said, "It's not too bad. At least not for those of us who don't actually have to serve it."

A man who "had a grudge" against two police officers used his minivan last night as a weapon in an apparent attempt to settle a score. Yesterday, a man was stabbed outside the McDonald's on 8th Avenue between 34th and 35th Streets in midtown Manhattan, and now it turns out the victim was a security guard for the fast food restaurant. Why does a McDonald's need a guard, when it's not Shamrock Shake season? Well, some allege that the location is a haven for drug dealers and their transactions.
Man Accused Of Stonewall Beating Sounds Like A Real Winner
Hey, remember that 21-year-old Staten Island guy who said "We don't like gay bars," before beating up a gay man inside of the most famous gay bar in the world? We don't want to shock you, but he has been charged with assault. This time of a homeless man. And two cops. All because a drug deal went bad.
Man Allegedly Rapes Girl After Being Freed From Drug Charges
Last December, Lawrence Elliot was arrested for leading an undercover cop to a crack deal. Justice Michael Sonberg was to sentence him to two and a half years in prison on the November 9th, but decided to let Elliot go free until December 7th to care for his father, who had just suffered a stroke. We're guessing hindsight is looking about 20/20 for that judge, because Elliot was arrested on Saturday and charged with raping and robbing a City College student in her Hamilton Heights home on Thursday—two days after he was let free.
NYU Official's Son Shot In His Village Apt., Drug Deal Suspected
On Monday night, the 24-year-old son of a NYU development official was shot in his Bleecker Street apartment, along with a convicted drug dealer in what police believe was a robbery during a drug deal. According to the Daily News, Alex Bongard, 24, and Luke Hinde, who served time for marijuana possession, "were selling marijuana from Bongard's third-floor apartment when two men posing as customers showed up at 11:30 p.m. Monday, police said. As the dealers opened the door, the intruders - who wore ski masks - stormed inside. One pulled out a handgun and opened fire."
Got A Drug Deal Going On? Bring The Kids!
So your friend really needs a ride to a crack deal, but you're stuck at home watching some kids, ages 7, 2, 1 and 7 months. What to do? Bring 'em along! Cynthia Carter of Long Island has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal facilitation after bringing four children (it's unclear what the relationship is) to a drug deal with her friend Tamisha Kilpatrick on September 14th. Police say Kipatrick "was observed" selling crack while the children waited in the car. Well, yeah, someone had to be the lookout.
Pace Murder Suspect Allegedly Threatened Witness
Manhattan prosecutors say that one of the men suspected of killing a Pace University student also beat a witness. Max Moreno, an apparent drug dealer, was fatally shot after refusing to hand over money; at Raymond Rizzo's arraignment, prosecutor Cynthia Sittnick said Rizzo (pictured) beat a witness trying to escape, saying, "he was going to die." She also said suspect Randy Colon, who was arrested in Pennsylvania, was the one who pulled the trigger. Rizzo faces charges including murder, assault and burglary; his lawyer said, "If he was there, for argument’s sake, to buy weed, and he had no knowledge of what was about to go down, he’s not on the hook."
NYPD Releases Video Of Pace Murder Suspects
Surveillance video of two men believed to be involved in the killing of a Pace University student was released last night. Max Moreno was shot in his Financial District apartment building last month, during what police believe may have been a drug deal gone wrong or a set-up robbery. A witness said that Moreno, described as a "small-time pot dealer," allegedly refused to give any money to two armed men, one of whom pulled a trigger.

Father-Son Duo Fail to Buy Pot with Fake Bills, Stab Dealer
Police say a wild fight broke out on West 179th Street at 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon after Kevin Hernandez, 49, and his 18-year-old son Joseph tried to buy five pounds of weed from two dealers in a McDonald's near the George Washington Bridge. The Post reports that when the pair tried to pay for the herb with $3,500 in (probably pretty obviously) counterfeit cash, the dealers bounced. But the Hernandezes didn't appreciate this one bit, and proceeded to chase them down West 179th Street, where the father allegedly stabbed one of the dealers in the hand.
While Texting About Drug Deal, Driver Hits Cyclist
WCBS 880 reports, " Police say a man who drove his car into a cyclist in New Jersey was sending a text message about a drug deal." Apparently Robert Sharrer, 28, admitted to cops that he was texting when he hit a cyclist wearing a reflective vest in Medford on Monday night. Police claim the text was about a drug deal and "say they found unauthorized prescription drugs in Sharrer's car and charged him with drug possession."
Washington Heights Car Chase, Shooting Was All About Drugs
As many of our astute commenters suspected, it was a drug deal gone bad that sparked Wednesday night's wild car chase and fatal shooting in Washington Heights. It was originally reported that a man had flagged down a patrol car screaming that he was robbed and pointing to a silver Cadillac a few car lengths ahead, near West 170th street. And while police say it's true that the man and his buddy were robbed—of somewhere between $500 and $1,200 cash—it's now confirmed that the robbery was a pot deal gone bad.
Cops Indicted, Video Vindicates Accused Brothers
Two undercover cops are being formally indicted today on charges that they framed two brothers and their friends in a drug bust at Club Delicioso in Elmhurst. Last January Officer Henry Tavarez and Detective Stephen Anderson were part of a team performing a “buy-and-bust” operation at the nightclub, resulting in six arrests. But prosecutors say Tavarez did not actually buy any blow, and instead used some of the cocaine bought by Anderson as evidence against four men who had simply been hanging out outside the club. Luckily for them, the defendants were able to obtain a copy of the surveillance video proving they never had any contact with the officers, and the charges against them were ultimately dropped. Both officers are now accused of conspiracy, official misconduct, and according to the Queens D.A., "knowingly engaging in criminal activity that could have resulted in lengthy prison terms for four innocent men."
FIT Ladies: We Were Just Trying to Hook a Brother Up
The two FIT students arrested last month for dealing cocaine say that they were just hooking friends up, not really dealing the drug. Seniors Mickenzie Dippenworth and Christine Scafa pleaded not guilty in court yesterday to drug-sale charges. They were arrested after allegedly selling coke to two undercover cops they met at the Chelsea nightclub Home near their FIT dorms. But a statement in court yesterday fro Scafa stated, "The only time that she supplied cocaine to anyone else is her friends. She did not turn a profit and only did it to 'hook up' her friends." Scafa claims that she began using cocaine as a freshman with DIppenworth. As for Dippenworth, her alibi was "that she made $80 once from selling drugs and that was her first time." Cops say the pair sold them a little under $1300 in cocaine. If convicted, they could face up to 25 years. The two young women—along with their accused supplier Raymond Alameda—will be back in court in March.
