Last Night's Action: It All Comes Back to NIne
Getting the Point
Let’s not get too excited by the fact that Larry Brown won his 1.000th game last night. Sure it is a nice achievement for him, but the other coaches who have reached it, Lenny Wilkens, Don Nelson and Pat Riley, all coached the Knicks and never won a championship. Instead, let’s focus on the fact that the Knicks have won six in a row, the latest a 105-94 victory over the Hawks.
Celtics' Mouths Write Checks Their Bodies Can't Cash, and Knicks End Up Top Guns
Wow! Two nights after beating the Spurs, the Knicks took it to the Boston Celtics with authority last night. The Celtics trash-talked through the first quarter, earning technical fouls along the way, and the Knicks responded with perhaps their best game of the season in a 107-82 demolition at the Garden. This is even more impressive when you know that Boston has an 11-1 (well, now 11-2) record since trading for Antoine Walker last month.
