When was the last time a Giuliani got some good press? Today's Post checks in with onetime mayoral inauguration day superstar Andrew, a few months after it was reported that he is suing Duke University after being thrown off their golf team by Coach OD Vincent for bad behavior. Specifically, as former teammate Brian Kim puts it, "He threw an apple at me point-blank, and it shattered on my face." Since then, it's alleged that Andrew's mother Donna Hanover has offered to donate $1 million to the favorite charity of one player's parents in order to garner a vote to get him reinstated on the team. And Coach Vincent believes that he is being followed, possibly by the same private investigator the family hired who has been calling teammates. Despite being one of the weaker members of the team last year, Giuliani still says his plans are to go pro.

Back when he was seven years-old and fighting for attention at the podium of his father's mayoral inauguration, it may have been harsh to call Andrew Giuliani a brat. Now he's twenty-two and suing the Duke Golf team for getting kicked off by coach O.D. Vincent after several incidents of bad behavior that included throwing an apple at one of his teammates.

It appears that Judith Nathan, the current Mrs. Giuliani, may have been enjoying taxpayer-funded car service provided by the police while her affair with former Mayor Giuliani was unknown. Giuliani's admitted that he gave his girlfriend a security detail once their relationship became public because of possible threats against her, but it appears that Nathan was enjoying New York's Finest as a taxi service months before anyone even knew the two were involved with each...

Okay, so we've heard about how Rudy Giuliani's mayoral administration billed his police security detail expenses - accrued during trips to the Hamptons, possibly visiting then-mistress Judi Nathan - to various obscure city agencies. And then there are reports that Nathan, now married to the former mayor, used her NYPD security detail to chauffeur friends and family. Naturally, now there's talk of the police security expenses of Giuliani's then-wife Donna Hanover. The Post's David Seifman...

Even thought Rudy Giuliani's presidential campaign tries to insist that the story is old news and a hit job, the Rudy-NYPD security detail Travelgate situation keeps getting messier. Why? Because even if one agrees that a security detail for Giuliani while he was visiting his then-mistress (and now current wife) Judi Nathan in the Hamptons is a legitimate use of taxpayer money (even if it was randomly billed to various city agencies - which the...

Just in time for last night's Republican debate, political website Politico broke a story claiming that former mayor Rudy Giuliani billed "obscured city agencies for tens of thousands of dollars in security expenses" for extra-marital Hamptons trips with future wife Judith Nathan. When Giuliani would travel outside the city, he would be accompanied by a police detail. And if he stayed overnight, the police would also need lodging and other expenses taken care of. Politico...

Former mayor Rudy Giuliani may have participated in a Republican debate last night, but all anyone wants to talk about is how his possibly estranged daughter and incoming Harvard freshman Caroline joined a Barack Obama group on Facebook, as reported by Slate. Slate explained that "she withdrew from the Obama group at 6 a.m. Monday, after Slate sent her an inquiry about it." The article's author, Lucy Morrow Caldwell, was able to see Caroline Giuliani's profile because she is a Harvard student.

Yesterday, Caroline Giuliani graduated from her private high school, and the tabloids were on hand to note the seating arrangement: Mother Donna Hanover, step-dad Ed Oster, and brother Andrew Giuliani were sitting near the front, while father Rudy Giuliani and step-mom Judi Nathan sat in the balcony.

Set your DVRs, because tomorrow night's 20/20 should be a doozy. The Barbara Walters interview with Rudy and Judith Giuliani will air, and they talk about marriages (and divorces), their first meeting ("instant" attraction), and how Rudy would be fine if Judi sat in on policy meetings at the White House. Oh, yes. According to ABC News' preview, Giuliani says, "If [the meetings] were relevant to something that she was interested in. I mean that would be something that I'd be very, very comfortable with."

While in California discussing gang violence with sheriffs and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rudy Giuliani answered some questions about his relationship with son Andrew. The former mayor's 21-year-old son made some remarks to the NY Times about being estranged from his father due to a rocky relationship with stepmother Judi Nathan. Today, Giuliani said:

"My wife Judith is a very loving and caring ... mother and stepmother. She has done everything she can. The responsibility is mine. I believe that these problems with blended families, you know, are challenges -- sometimes they are. The more privacy I can have for my family, the better we are going to be able to deal with all these difficulties."
That's true: Giuliani was the one to announce that he was separating from Andrew's mother Donna Hanover in a press conference (that's how Hanover found out) - and he'd been dating Nathan prior to that. Anyway, it's interesting re-reading Nathan's remarks to Harper's Bazaar over Rudy - it does cast some interesting questions about his skills as a father (and we know he's not running for Father of U.S.A., but he made such a big deal out of his kids previously).

After the fun of seeing the 1993 Rudy Giuliani vulnerabilities study on The Smoking Gun, the Post asks if Giuliani's "woman problems" will hurt his chances. Not only was Giuliani married for 14 years to his second cousin, his marriage to Donna Hanover publicly crumbled during his second term as mayor. And he was seeing current wife Judi Nathan before he was formally divorced from Hanover!

It's a late holiday gift for us all - "140 pages of printed text, handwriting and spreadsheet" explaining the inner-workings of Rudy Giuliani's presidential campaign! The Daily News' Ben Smith has the scoop on the secret plans, thanks to what can only be called a major mistake:

The document was obtained by the Daily News from a source sympathetic to one of Giuliani's rivals for the White House. The source said it was left behind in one of the cities Giuliani visited as he campaigned for dozens of Republican candidates in the weeks leading up to the November 2006 elections.

A week and half after forming a presidential exploratory committee in NY State, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani has filed federal papers to start a presidential exploratory committee. A Giuliani adviser told ABC News, "This is something that gets done by candidates looking at potential runs. It's crossing the 't' in exploratory." Too bad exploratory doesn't have an "i" in it either!

The documentary isn't coming out for a month, but there's speculation about the upcoming Giuliani Time and what it could mean for the former mayor/possible Republican presidential candidate. Director Kevin Keating is trying to show the other, non-September 11 Giuliani - you know, the Gooliani we all remember from such events as the Abner Louima beating, the Amadou Diallo shooting, and the Sensation show debacle. The Times points out the film is being distributed by Cinema Libre, which is "known for its slate of leftish films, like 'Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism' and 'Uncovered: The War on Iraq.'" And the Daily News cuts to the chase and says for New Yorkers, it'll "offer few revelations." But it'll be a trip down memory lane!

Yesterday, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani testified at the death penalty trial of Zacarias Moussaoui, telling jurors about what he saw, thought and felt on September 11, 2001. He described seeing people jump from the World Trade Center towers and said, "By the time the second plane hit, we knew it was a terrorist attack. This was war. This was a battle." Giuliani didn't look at Moussaoui much, but Moussaoui did watch Giuliani. Family members of September 11 victims also spoke during the day. Moussaoui's lawyer described his client as a minor player in Al Qaeda suffering from mental illness; Moussaoui did yell, "Burn in the USA!" during a break.

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani told a crowd at the Forbes Global CEO Conference that he's going to decide on running for President in 2008 next year. Sigh, this will make Gothamist crazy for the next year, the inclusion of Giuliani as a potential GOP candidate, because we really doubt he'll run at this point yet we'll still have to deal with the stories about him "thinking" about a run. While Giuliani did show unflappable calm and manage to steer the city during September 11, as well as help reduce crime and improve the economy, he was also incredibly divisive. Oh, wait, that does work for some politicians. But having to hear "9/11! 9/11!" during a campaign might be the thing to drive us from television. The other thing is Giuliani's public separation with then wife Donna Hanover - telling your wife you're separating during a press conference is harsh!

The Daily News has great coverage, especially since they're crowing from breaking much of the story. The NY Times pondered about who Kerik's nanny is and here's Newsday's special section dedicated to the the Kerik mess; also check out Kerik's bio at Giuliani Partners and his love nest via Curbed.

Former New York City First Lady Donna Hanover's wedding announcement is in the Times' style section. Hanover married her high school and college sweetheart, Edwin Oster, a lawyer in California. The Times mentions Hanover's acrimonious divorce from Rudy, including the dog support, and notes that she met her new husband back in high school, when they were on opposing debate teams. Even Gothamist says, aw and we hope third time's a charm, Donna.
