Just before 4 p.m., word came in over the newswire that there was "a person under the train" at East 77th Street and Lexington; soon after it was noted the person was DOA.
Now CityRoom reports that a girl was crushed to death between the 6 train and the platform. It's unclear at this time if her death was accidental—there are conflicting eyewitness reports. Some witnesses say she was playing with kids on the uptown platform when someone pushed her towards the tracks, while others say she jumped. The site has some gruesome details as well, noting "part of the girl’s head and arm were visible between the platform and a door of a car toward the front of the train. Passengers inside the car were screaming."

DOA Under L Train At 1st Ave & 14th Street
Earlier, there were police scanner reports about a person under the L train at 1st Ave and 14th Street. Now we hear the person is dead. The MTA's website says, "Due to a police investigation at the 1st Avenue Station, there is no L train service in both directions between the Bedford Avenue Station and the 8th Avenue Station. Please expect delays in L train service at this time." Update: We hear that the person may have jumped in front of the train.
Bicycle and Motorcycle Collide Leaving 2 Dead
The accident occurred at the corner of Greene Avenue and Washington Avenue in Fort Greene. The rapper Common's cousin, Ajile Turner, allegedly hit cyclist Julian C. Miller with his Kawasaki, and both were pronounced DOA at Brooklyn Hospital.
Body Found at McCarren Park Pool
Just in from the newswire, there's a "suspicious death" being reported at McCarren Park Pool, allegedly at the building that serves as an entrance. The person was found "DOA by event staff" earlier this morning. Last night Twelve Ophelias, a play centered around Hamlet's Ophelia coming back to life, was staged there; the night before there was a screening of The Virgin Suicides. All in all, a dark week for McCarren. Thus far, multiple calls to the Precinct have gone unanswered.
