Yankees 6 Tampa Bay 2: The six-game losing streak is history thanks to some timely pitching and some clutch hitting. Alex Rodriguez got the scoring started with two solo homers that gave New York leads of 1-0 and 2-1. Ivan Nova pitched into the sixth, but ran out of gas and was replaced by David Robertson with the bases loaded. Robertson was great in the inning, getting two strike outs to close the inning without damage. Robertson left with two-on and two-outs in the 7th, but Joba Chamberlain got the final out of that frame. Meanwhile, the Yankee bats opened things up with two runs in the 7th and two in the 9th as they cruised home with a much-needed win.

Last Night's Action: Finally!
For 2011 Yankees, Starting Pitching is the Biggest Concern
After an off-season that was widely reviewed as a failure, the Yankees will take to the field tomorrow attempting to prove their detractors wrong. Yes, they didn’t land Cliff Lee and yes, they enter the season with big question mark hanging over their rotation. But the fact remains that this is still a pretty good ballclub.
Last Night's Action: Sweep!
Mets 1 Atlanta 0 (Six Innings): Give an assist to the rain, but it counts like any other win and that's all the Mets care about right now. New York sent a message to their division rival over the weekend and took advantage of a Chipper Jones' error to win this game. (How sweet it is!) Mike Pelfrey improved to 4-0 on a night where he was wild, but didn't take any damage.
Last Night's Action: Kyle Still Sucks
- Yankees 4 Kansas City 3: There’s nothing more for the Yankees to wrap up in the regular season, but this win was a nice gift to the fans. Sure another win is nice, but the way it happened, a comeback off of old “friend” Kyle Farnsworth was a nice release for the locals. After watching Farnsworth implode in big spots as a Yankee it was nice to see him do it against the Yankees. Juan Miranda completed the comeback with a RBI single in the ninth. More importantly, A.J. Burnett pitched well and David Robertson looked good in his first action in three weeks as he tries to make the postseason roster.
- Washington 4 Mets 3: New York jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but they couldn’t close it as they fell to the Nationals. Two errors in the eighth allowed the Nats to break a 3-3 tie and win the game.
