Kim Kardashian Rumored To Have Wanted A Knick, But Settled For A Net

Before Kim Kardashian clamped her thighs of doom around New Jersey Net Kris Humphries, she was apparently hunting down a sightly different prey: A Knick. more ›

Madison Square Garden Will Reopen Tomorrow

Madison Square Garden Will Reopen Tomorrow

The World's Most Famous Arena (that destroyed the beautiful old Penn Station) will be opening its door once again after a brief asbestos scare. The city's Department of Environmental Protection said Madison Square Garden was safe, and then MSG management said the Knicks, whose Tuesday game against the Orlando Magic was postponed, will play tomorrow against the Washington Wizards. So, what did the Knicks do with the time off? more ›

Last Night's Action: At Home, Playing Out The Season

Last Night's Action: At Home, Playing Out The Season

Our misery is almost over! Could it be the final season of Knicks futility? We'll all find out in the off-season, but at least the Knicks won their final home game of the season. The 2010-11 Knicks will have a very different look — with the possibility of superstar players (in their prime) and possibly a team without David Lee, who becomes a free agent after the season. Lee scored 26 points in the win. Danilo Gallinari scored 24 points (all in the 2nd half) to help the Knicks come from behind for the win. more ›

Knicks Have an All Star!! David Lee Makes Squad

Knicks Have an All Star!! David Lee Makes Squad

David Lee was named as a replacement All-Star yesterday and will join teammates Danilo Gallinari (3-point contest) and Nate Robinson (Slam-Dunk contest) in the festivities in Dallas. The 26 year-old Lee, replacing Allen Iverson on the Eastern Conference team, is averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds per game. Lee’s inclusion in the game gives the Knicks their first All-Star since 2001. 2001 was also the last year the Knicks had a winning record and the year they last won a playoff game. The Eastern Conference won the game that year on a shot by Stephon Marbury. Isn’t it great to be a Knicks’ fan? more ›

Last Night's Action: The Kobe Show was in Town

Last Night's Action: The Kobe Show was in Town

Kobe Bryant was in town, but he wasn't able to deliver his usual stellar performance at The Garden. Bryant, who had a 61-point outing in his last visit to New York City, finished the game with a measly 27 points. New York actually had a one-point lead entering the 3rd quarter, but unfortunately for the Knicks, the Lakers started the 4th quarter with a 20-9 run. Kobe was able to score 13 points in the 4th quarter to help the Lakers to victory. David Lee led the Knicks with 31 points and 17 rebounds while Wilson Chandler scored 28 points in the loss. more ›

Making The Call: A Failure To Communicate

Making The Call: A Failure To Communicate

Despite last night’s stumble in Houston, the Knicks are playing pretty good basketball these days and they have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs in a diminished Eastern Conference. With David Lee playing like an All-Star, Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari continuing to develop, the Knicks aren’t that far from becoming respectable again. But there is one disturbing trend that has become clear this year, the coach has a problem with his communication skills. more ›

Last Night's Action: Role Reversal

Last Night's Action: Role Reversal

Who had the Knicks as the first team to hold the Suns under 100 points? Mike D'Antoni's squad did just that against the coach's former team in a 126-99 rout of the Suns at Madison Square Garden. This is probably the best game the Knicks have played all season. Danilo Gallinari had 27 points and 10 rebounds. David Lee had 24 points, and Al Harrington had 22. The Knicks had 71 points in the first half alone. The Suns, who missed the playoffs last season, had the best record in the NBA entering Tuesday's game. This was a surprise, to say the least. New York made 10 more 3-pointers than Phoenix. Can the Knicks build on this? Time will tell. more ›

Last Night's Action: At Least The Devils Won

Last Night's Action: At Least The Devils Won

  • Boston 105 Nets 85: When you trail by 29 points at halftime, you just hope to make the game respectable. The Nets didn’t really do that, but they did play better in the second half when Vince Carter and Devin Harris were benched. Brook Lopez had a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds.

Don't Expect Any NBA Playoff Games Around Here

Don't Expect Any NBA Playoff Games Around Here

We know the Knicks will be different, but will they be any better? Then again, how could they be any worse? The coach is new, the players are the same, but there is a different vibe to the team that ended last year at 23-59. Eddy Curry isn’t a part of the rotation and Stephon Marbury will be coming off the bench. Chris Duhon has been brought in to run the point and Jared Jeffries will be at center when he is healthy again. The new coach has brought a new attitude and a fast-paced offense to MSG and it should make for some more entertaining basketball. more ›

NBA 'Tips Off' Season in Union Square

NBA 'Tips Off' Season in Union Square

The weather outside may be frightful, but that's not going to stop the NBA from tipping off their 2008-2009 season in Union Square. Starting earlier this morning and ending at 7PM, the NBA Tip Off Celebration will feature past NBA stars and current Knicks players. From 12-3PM, former Knicks players John Starks, Charles Smith, Kenny "Sky" Walker, and Clyde Frazier will be on hand with the Knicks City Dancers. Presumably, it will be frowned upon to ask Starks about the 1994 NBA Finals and Smith about the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals. If nostalgia's not your cup of tea, current Knicks players David Lee, Nate Robinson, Malik Rose and Danilo Gallinari will be on hand from 4-6PM. While the first regular season NBA game is tonight, the Knicks and Nets don't start their seasons until tomorrow. more ›

Knicks and Nets Add Some Talent in NBA Draft

Knicks and Nets Add Some Talent in NBA Draft

Boy were we wrong about fan reaction at the NBA Draft. Not only did the fans boo the Knicks selection of Danilo Gallinari, but they even started a “Fire Donnie” chant. Why the hate for Gallinari? Well, the fans wanted OJ Mayo and drafting a European player probably brings back memories of Frederic Weis. Perhaps the booing was just Knicks fans getting out their leftover animosity from this past season. Gallinari isn’t a bad pick however. He doesn’t play defense (so he fits right in) but he is extremely good with the ball and can score which makes him a perfect fit for Mike D’Antoni’s system. However, with the addition of Gallinari, the Knicks have a glut at the 3 and the 4 spots, so expect some sort of trade to happen soon, preferably the end of the Zach Randolph era. more ›

The Knicks Prepare for a Jeer-less Draft

Tonight will be different at Madison Square Garden because for the first time in years, the Knicks will do something and not be booed. While all signs point to the Knicks sticking with the #6 pick, you can be sure that could change because the top of the draft is very fluid. For weeks it has all been about Derrick Rose and Michael Beasley going 1-2, but with Chicago reportedly picking Rose, the Heat are considering a trade or picking OJ Mayo. If they pick Mayo, you can bet the Knicks will try and get to #3 to get Beasley. more ›

(Ping Pong) Ball Bounces Wrong Way for Knicks and Nets

(Ping Pong) Ball Bounces Wrong Way for Knicks and Nets

The best chance for the Knicks to make a quick return to respectability bounced away with the drop of a ping pong ball in the NBA Draft Lottery Tuesday night. In reality, they fared exactly as they should have, but for fans desperately hoping to see Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley in a Knicks’ uniform next year, it was a disappointing night. The Knicks wound up with the sixth pick and the Nets, who had a minimal chance of moving up, will pick tenth. more ›
