For years, YEARS, we've been hearing about a Ghostbusters III. It's hard to keep up with all of the rumors and mumblings, so to recap: it may or may not involve the Apatow bros, or the original cast, or Anna Farris, or John Hodgman? (That last one is new to us.) But the latest to come from one of the only legit people involved, Dan Aykroyd, is that Bill Murray will definitely not be returning (which we sort of knew when he said he shredded the script). However, his character Peter Venkman may be. That's right, Aykroyd hinted in a recent interview that "Bill Murray may not return as Peter Venkman, and that the character could be played by a different actor." Which is a terrible idea! But even so, who would you cast? Our office is split between an older Venkmen, and a more youthful one, and you can see our picks above (sorry Jonah Hill, you didn't make the cut.) More importantly, should this movie even happen?

Dan Aykroyd is the latest Ghostbuster to talk about the possibility of a Ghostbusters III movie, and in an interview with Dennis Miller he declared it's happening.
Ghostbusters Primed for Comeback with New Game
How many Ghostbutsters video games does the world need? Guess one more can't hurt. The NY Times has an interesting little piece on Dan Aykroyd and also reports that Atari "has approached Ghostbusters: the Video Game as a major production in its own right. In a reversal of the traditional entertainment food chain, the game, to be released June 16, will come to market even as planning for the long-awaited third Ghostbusters film remains in the earliest stages. The expectation is that the game will both revitalize and expand interest in the franchise ahead of a new movie." The company is promoting the game as having been written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, but the latter says, “The crassest way I can put it is that they couldn’t have paid us enough to give it the time and attention required to make it as funny as a feature film.” Though the Times says it is actually quite funny, and the graphics don't look half bad either—just check out this trailer.

If providing the citizens of New Jersey with a new brand of vodka that comes packaged in a plastic skull wasn't enough to get them seeing stars, Dan Aykroyd has given local extraterrestrial believers some additional fuel to their speculative fire. While making a promotional appearance in Morris Plains in support of his new Crystal Head vodka, Aykroyd was asked about the recent UFO hoax in the Garden State. He said that he was glad to see the story because, as he put it, "It draws attention to the real cases. I've seen two of them."
Ghostbusters out of Retirement, Rumors Include Rogen
This Friday brings good news, as Variety is reporting that the Ghostbusters are making their way back to the big screen. This isn't some thrown together, B-list, straight-to-DVD sequel, either. They say "the studio has set The Office co-exec producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to write a script for a film designed to bring back together the original cast of Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson." No word on yet on whether or not they'll be going to hell in this one, but other rumors surrounding the third installment are running rampant.
Ghostbusters Get Their Game On, Again
Ghostbusters has been in the form of a videogame ever since it hit the big screen in 1984, and since then it's been through many versions and platforms. Seems it has taken nearly 24 years to perfect it though, as it's just been announced the movie will haunt us til the end up time with a series of top-notch videogames to come.First title in what the publisher hopes will be a series of Ghostbusters games...

The New York Post is reporting that the devastation caused by Hurricaines Charley and Frances is about to hit home ... in the produce section. This season's hurricaines have devastated the Florida grapefruit crop and severely damaged the orange crop. Prices are skyrocketing in the orange juice futures market, although the real spike will be in the prices of whole fruit (orange juice is typically stored in reserve at super-frozen temperatures for up to three years to hedge against interruptions in supply).
