One Dead, One Hospitalized After Attack in Park Slope
Two men were allegedly attacked last night around 12th Street and 5th Avenue in Park Slope. Crew Uses Crowbars, Cadillac To Steal ATMS
According to the Post, there's a pretty serious pair of thieves out there preying on helpless ATMs: "The duo has escaped with thousands of dollars in cash during their three-month crime spree, in which they used crowbars and even a Cadillac to haul away the machines, police said.... They have struck only free-standing ATMs located outside businesses, often grocery stores." They hit locations in Soho, Midtown, Lower East Side, Village, and Tribeca. But this doesn't hold a candle to the guy who dumped four ATMs a Fresh Meadows Park lake (he also jumped into the East River to evade the cops).
Pratt Student In Coma After Attack In Brooklyn
Last week, a 22-year-old Pratt student was robbed and brutally beaten at Grand and Lexington Avenues in Brooklyn's Clinton Hill section. Eddy Sanchez had been walking towards to the Pratt campus around 10 p.m. last Tuesday night when, WCBS 2 reports, five teens surrounded him—"They demanded money, and when Sanchez initially refused, the suspects punched and kicked him into submission, and took what they wanted." The Daily News adds that one teen used a crowbar to beat him when he tried to fight back. Now Sanchez is in a coma at Kings County Hospital.
