Perennial NYU freshman drinking hole and drunken air hockey tournament headquarters Cheap Shots was reportedly issued two court orders yesterday for "illegal activities." The bar was shut after serving underage auxiliary police officers on three different occasions, leaving 19-year-olds stranded and $5 Car Bomb-less. Attorney Allison L. Arenson told NYC The Blog, "It can not be denied that the subject premises is a public nuisance, and as such should not be allowed to remain open even one more day." The real question is, how did it take them this long to figure that out?

City Fined Over Information on 2008's Crane Collapse
Yesterday, a judge ordered the Bloomberg administration to compensate the families of two workers killed in 2008's Upper East Side crane collapse $5,000. The families of workers Donald C. Leo and Ramadan Kurtaj filed a lawsuit against the crane company and the Buildings Department, accusing them of negligence and corruption in the building project, but the city repeatedly ignored requests and court orders for documents and information regarding the safety of the equipment used on the collapse site. Mr Kurtaj's family lawyer, Susan Karten, told the Times, "It behooves the mayor to ask the city’s lawyers to stop this kind of obfuscation and to turn over crucial documents in this case."
Hospital Sanctioned by Health Dept. Over Cop DWI Blood Test
On September 27th, off-duty NYPD officer Andrew Kelly fatally ran over pedestrian Vionique Valnord, 32, as she tried to hail a cab after a wedding party. Though first responders reported Kelly's breath smelled boozy and he was slurring his speech, his system was devoid of alcohol when his blood was tested... seven hours later. Kelly exercised his right to refuse a Breathalyzer test at the scene (allegedly telling officers, "You're going to have to tie me down") and investigators had to get court order to draw his blood at Kings County Hospital. Now doctors at that hospital have been reprimanded by the state Health Department for initially refusing to draw Kelly's blood, wasting precious time.
United Homeless Organization Shut Down by Court Order
Last month Attorney General Andrew Cuomo filed a lawsuit against the United Homeless Organization, accusing the group of running a scam that funnels money to the bosses at the top and the workers who solicit donations throughout Manhattan, in the name of "helping the homeless." Today Cuomo obtained an interim court order requiring the not-for-profit group to immediately halt all charitable solicitations from the public by any means. The order also freezes UHO’s assets, including bank accounts and vehicles.
Judge Lets Alleged Stabby Shrink Go Home To Slashed Hubby
Couples therapist Joyce Poster-Lederman has been barred from her Upper West Side apartment since September 29th, when she allegedly slashed her 79-year-old husband with two kitchen knives. But yesterday her lawyers convinced Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Anthony Ferrara to let her pack her knives and go home—despite the judge's initial reluctance. Defense lawyer Aaron Wallenstein insisted to Judge Ferrara that husband Selwyn Lederman, also a psychologist, wants her back. But the judge got the courtroom in stiches with his commentary.
