The Oscars Snub Corey Haim And Others

Last night the annual In Memorium segment of the Oscars failed to mention a few names (last year they snubbed Brad Renfro, Farrah Fawcett, and Bea Arthur!). This year the "forgotten" few included composer John Barry, Oscar-nominated Don Peterman (cinematographer for Splash, and many others), CAA agent Marty Baum, French filmmaker and screenwriter Eric Rohmer, Maria Schneider of Last Tango in Paris, Monica Johnson (co-writer for many Albert Brooks films), Len Lesser, and Corey Haim (Canada is particularly pissed off about this). Who else did the Academy intentionally (or unintentionally) forget to include this year? more ›

Corey Haim's death is currently under investigation following a link authorities found to an "illegal and massive prescription drug ring." The ring allegedly orders the prescription pads using stolen doctor identities and sells them to addicts and dealers. We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference." more ›

Corey Haim, Dead At 38

Actor Corey Haim died this morning of an apparent overdose, TMZ reports. The LAPD confirms the 38-year-old was found unresponsive in his Oakwood, California apartment, where his mother was also staying—he was pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank. The LAPD believe the death was accidental. Haim battled drug addiction for much of his life, a subject that was touched upon in "The Two Coreys," the A&E reality show he co-starred in with longtime friend Corey Feldman in 2007 and 2008. The show allegedly ended because Feldman refused to work with Haim until he got help. (Some clips of Haim after the jump.) more ›

Winona Ryder: Free Pass to Rock Celebrity

Winona Ryder: Free Pass to Rock Celebrity

It's good to know that Winona Ryder is basically like the Welcome Wagon for any semi-cute up-and-coming would-be rocker - at least someone is looking out for the lads. That's why she was the focus of a VH1 All Access:Winona Rules! Truly, it makes sense for Winona to be featured, because as Courtney Love says, as quoted on the show's site, "You’re no one in music until you have feuded with me or until you sleep with Winona!” more ›
