It was another two very busy days for Gothamist. Again, we're gonna focus on just the highlights because there were far too many bands we saw this weekend to mention them all.

Day 2 was significantly busier than Day 1. All in all, we made it to 12 different shows between 10:00am and 2am, we'll highlight the highlights here.

So, while part of Gothamist opted to take in an intimate show by the Dandies at CBGB's, the rest of us spent most of our night at Bowery for the Worlds Fair showcase. But that doesn't mean we didn't get around.

The band held up their glasses to cheers the venue, and as a bittersweet ending to the night Zia stood alone on stage singing a Velvet Underground song, something (she said) she "had to do" while she was standing inside this landmark that would soon be gone.

We're about to dive head first into the CMJ music marathon. Honestly, there are ALWAYS a lot of shows to go to in this city. This week, however, there are more shows with open bars and more bands that aren't from Brooklyn.

It's that time of year again. The humidity lifts, the smell of fall is teasing us from just around the corner, we really really want to buy school supplies (it's a nostalgia thing)...and, of course, musicians from all over descend upon the city and replace our quiet evenings with some rock. Okay, so our evenings aren't usually as quiet as we'd like them to be, and they do usually involve rock, but CMJ will multiply our norm by about 8 gazilion.
