Portions of a two-story building at West 125th Street and 8th Avenue in Harlem have collapsed onto a city bus. Twitter user @eightyocho writes that the scene is "pandemonium," and we're receiving reports that two police officers may have been injured, and that the building was slated for demolition. Various agencies are staging at the scene, and the FDNY tells us that the call came in at 9:26 a.m. We'll update as more details become available. more ›

Man Jumps To Death In Midtown, Apparently Over Love Life

Yesterday afternoon, a 19-year-old man jumped from a building near 36th Street and 6th Avenue in Midtown and hit a city bus. According to the Daily News, "The QM1 bus, empty except for a driver, was parked along Sixth Ave. near W. 36th St. when the suicidal 19-year-old smashed into the edge of its roof, a transit source said." MTA Bus Accident In Brooklyn, 6 Injured

Earlier this morning, a city bus collided with a car at the intersection of Remsen Avenue and Avenue K in Canarsie. Six people were injured, with three going to Brookdale Hospital. And while MyFoxNY says that the bus collided with a car, WCBS 2 reports, "The accident occurred at the intersection of Avenue K and Remsen Avenue where an MTA bus struck a pedestrian crossing sign." more ›

Luggage Racks On City Buses To Airports

Would you look at that—NYC Transit will be rolling out (in a pilot program) luggage racks on buses that go to JFK and LaGuardia Airports. According to the Daily News, "The racks, which replace several seats toward the back of the bus, debut Monday on the M60 route between Broadway and 125th St. and LaGuardia Airport. NYC Transit will have racks on 10 buses on seven routes in all that include stops at LaGuardia or Kennedy airports." The other routes are B15, Q3, Q10, Q33, Q48 and Q72, and one bus driver is already happy, noting that many customers complain about the luggage blocking the entrances, exits and aisles. more ›

Bus Driver Fatally Stabbed by Passenger

A bus driver on the B46 line in Brooklyn died after being stabbed around 12:30 p.m. today. WCBS 2 reports, "Police told CBS 2 HD that a passenger leaving the bus asked for a transfer. The driver refused to give him one. An argument ensued and the suspect pulled out an object and stabbed the driver with it." The driver was taken to Woodhull Hospital, and then transferred to NY Presbyterian, where he died. The suspect is a black male in his late teens; WABC 7 reports that a witness chased him, but lost him. more ›
