Move over Madonna, you may be 50 now, but newly divorced Christie Brinkley's 54 and sans scary arms, in fact, "her hair is thick and golden, her skin is tanned but only just. Her teeth are gleaming, her waist is narrow." That's all according to the opening paragraphs in the uptown girl's cover story in New York magazine's current style issue. Rafael Nadal graces the back cover, and we learn all about his pirate look, "he’s managed to create what might be the most original look in men’s tennis history: sleeveless tees, shin-length pants, and bandannas tied with a cheeky flourish." There's also a feature on some New York folks (with tie racks the size of a studio apartment) and a look inside their closets.

After a spectacularly detailed divorce trial revealed his infidelities, $3,000/month porn addiction, paying one mistress $300,000 and more more, Christie Brinkley's estranged husband Peter Cook took time out to chat with the tabloids that largely painted him as a cad. Cook told the Post he'll "never regret marrying" Brinkley--"We had a great time for 10 years. I've got two beautiful children." With the Daily News, he was more jokey, adding that if he gets married again, Cool will use his ex's prenup and that he's looking for a "brunette" next. Which works out, since he was interviewed with his new brunette girlfriend.

The cruel and revelatory divorce proceedings between Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook ended at 6 a.m. this morning, with the sides announcing a settlement. Brinkley's lawyer Robert Cohen said in the courtroom, "It is my pleasure to report to the court that with much hard work ... we reached an agreement."

2008_07_brinkcook.jpgAfter yesterday's scathing testimony from a court-appointed psychiatrist, Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook may be working to settle the custody portion of their divorce battle in private. The model told reporters that she's "wanted to settle for two years."

The contentious divorce between All-American model Christie Brinkley and her estranged husband Peter Cook keeps revealing more and more salacious details. The couple separated when Brinkley found out Cook was having an affair with an 18-year-old employee at his architecture firm.

All-American supermodel Christie Brinkley is playing tough when it comes to her forthcoming divorce from architect Peter Cook. Brinkley's lawyer says the press should be allowed to attend the proceedings, in spite of the recommendation of a court-appointed guardian for her children, who say it's not a good idea.

There's really no reason to feel sorry for Christie Brinkley. She's richer and more beautiful than about 99.999% of the human population. But having the Post reveal that you're getting divorced from your fourth husband because he's infatuated with a 19 year old girl, well, that hits Gothamist's sympathy button. And heck, we've seen the video for "Uptown Girl" so many times, we'd expect her to pull up at a gas station in about ten minutes. The Post reports that architect Peter Cook offered Diana Bianchi a job at his firm, after meeting her at a Southampton Village toy store while "shopping for his children." Jeez! He "wrote her love notes and showered her with cash," and Bianchi's stepfather unsuccessfully tried to intervene. And then Brinkley found out about her husband was dating Bianchi by going through his emails.

So, there's a Page Six item that involves the usual Page Six details: A rich New Yorker (a celebrity dentist with patients "Donald Trump, Sumner Redstone, Harvey Weinstein, Bruce Springsteen, Kathie Lee Gifford, Christie Brinkley, Chloe Sevigny, Vera Wang, Tommy Hilfiger and Bridget Hall") who has a house in the Hamptons. But then you find out that the rich dentist made his own son sue him for damages about he and his son took a spill on a Vespa. Dr. Larry Rosenthal's son managed to get $85,000 from his dad's insurance company. Apparently the money went to tending to the son's medical bills and the rest went into a trust, but Rosenthal, who had a "punctured lung, broken ribs and other injuries after being dragged by a car that hit him as he lay on the road" didn't sue anyone. Our crazy legal system!

NY Post follows up the birth of Carys Zeta Douglas with wondering about the insane names that celebrities give their children. They offer up:

This second item in the Daily News speculates why Christie Brinkley was taking photographs of Billy Joel's totaled car. Another possibility - insurance purposes? But I do love that apparently the deviated septum" surgery he supposedly had left Joel with some swelling around the eyes. Uh, yeah.
