The 5-year-old Bronx boy who was struck by a vehicle on Saturday night seems to be doing much better. Joshua Saunders had chased a ball into East 214th Street when a SUV (which witnesses say was speeding and never stopped) hit him, breaking his legs, arm, and some ribs and puncturing his lungs. His aunt tells the Post, "He's doing much better now. They put him in a coma just to be safe, so he wouldn't move around." His father told the Daily News that the driver is a "coward and a maniac... The police are searching for the driver of the SUV that struck a five-year-old boy in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx last night. Joshua Saunders was ran into East 214th Street to chase a ball his older brother hit when a SUV, described as a green Nissan Pathfinder, hit him and continued on without stopping. The Daily News says he was dragged halfway down the street while a neighbor told the Post, "This psycho comes out of nowhere and knocks Joshua 30 feet into the air. Around 9:40 a.m. this morning, a 7-year-old child and his mother were struck by a MTA tow truck at Second Avenue and East 125th Street. The boy was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital. According to the Post, "The boy and his mother appeared to be jaywalking at the time of the accident" and the pair were trying to "coss an entrance ramp to the Triboro Bridge." more ›

According to the NY Post, "A livery cab driver plowed into a woman and her 4-year-old son as she was walking him to nursery school... nearly killing the boy, cops said. The 27-year-old man was driving a black Lincoln southbound on Broadway at 230th Street around 8:30 a.m., when he rammed into the 41-year-old Bronx woman and her son crossing at the intersection." A 41-year-old man was arrested in a hit-and-run incident that has left a 9-year-old girl in a coma. Saturday night, Nacirema Brown had run into Rockaway Avenue when a tan Nissan Maxima hit her. Witnesses told the girl's mother the driver got out of the car to yell, "You stupid little bitch!" before driving away. Police, who found the car on Park Place near Eastern Parkway, charged the suspect with leaving the scene of an accident. more ›
