Chelsea Clinton's New Job: NBC News Correspondent

Chelsea Clinton's New Job: NBC News Correspondent

When rumors were circulating that Chelsea Clinton was getting ready to enter the spotlight, many assumed that meant following in her parent's political footsteps. Instead it seems that the youngest Clinton is following in the footsteps of famous political daughters Jenna Bush Hager and Meghan McCain and is taking a job at Comcast subsidiary NBC. We'd make a joke about being on NBC barely counting as being in the spotlight, but the NBC Nightly News actually gets the best of the nightly news ratings. more ›

Chelsea Clinton Considering A Congressional Career?

Chelsea Clinton Considering A Congressional Career?

Since people finally seem to believe Hillary Clinton when she says she's done running for offices, isn't it about time we had another Clinton to kick around, eh? Well, we very well may: today Politico puts forward the idea (which has been bouncing around for a bit) that Chelsea Clinton is ready to enter into her parent's profession. Perhaps she'll take a stab for 74-year-old Representative Nita Lowey's seat in a few years? more ›

Bill And Chelsea Clinton Gaga For Gay Marriage Equality

Bill And Chelsea Clinton Gaga For Gay Marriage Equality

This year, we've already had our historic first gay cat marriage in NYC. And if Bill and Chelsea Clinton have any say on the matter, we'll be getting gay human marriage equality very soon as well! The two Clintons both came out strongly in favor of gay marriage yesterday: “For more than a century, our Statue of Liberty has welcomed all kinds of people from all over the world yearning to be free. In the 21st century, I believe New York’s welcome must include marriage equality,” Bill Clinton said in a statement released by the Human Rights Campaign. more ›

Chelsea Clinton Appears At Gala With Ski Bum Husband

Chelsea Clinton Appears At Gala With Ski Bum Husband

What better way to refute rumors that your marriage is over than by appearing at a glittering gala? And it's even better when you can honor your dad, who happens to be a former President! Last night, Chelsea Clinton and husband Marc Mezvinsky appeared at the amfAR Gala, and the recent bride said of her father, President Bill Clinton, "The work he has done, the work he is doing and the work he will continue to do [for AIDS research is invaluable]... That's a good reason to be proud. An even better reason to be proud is he hasn't stopped." more ›

Price Cut For Rhinebeck Estate Where Chelsea Got Married

Price Cut For Rhinebeck Estate Where Chelsea Got Married

The 50-acre Rhineback estate where Chelsea Clinton got married in July may be stunning, but it's not selling! The historic Astor Courts was on the market for $12 million before the Clinton-Mezvinsky nupitals, but then it went up to $13.5 million afterwards. Now, the Post reports, "With no takers, it's up for auction -- with a minimum cut-rate bid of just $7.5 million. The price says as much about the former president's declining star power as it does about the declining market." more ›

Chelsea Clinton's Food Choices Rock the Wedding World

Chelsea Clinton's Food Choices Rock the Wedding World

Though the wedding is long over, nitpickers are dissecting every choice of the new Mrs. Mezvinsky's wedding. On the chopping block today? The food. Chelsea Clinton is a vegetarian, and it was already reported that she had a gluten-free wedding cake. But she also made the decision to serve meat at the reception dinner. And now, the argument over what kind of food to serve at weddings is shaking the internet to its core. more ›

Donald Trump Calls Someone Else Tacky

Donald Trump Calls Someone Else Tacky

If there's someone who knows what tacky is, it's Donald Trump! The real estate developer blasted the owners of the Astor Courts, where Chelsea Clinton had her wedding, for running an ad saying, "Yes. It's for Sale... Home of Recent Celebrity Wedding." Trump told Page Six, "Over the years, I've seen many tacky things take place in the wonderful world of real estate, but never have I seen anything so bad. It was disgusting, and if I were Bill or Hillary Clinton, I would never speak to their 'good friend,' the owner, again. They were used." It's unclear if Trump finds (allegedly!) inflating sales figures for his Soho building tacky or not. more ›

Gawkers Will Not Get the Hell Out of Rhinebeck

Gawkers Will Not Get the Hell Out of Rhinebeck

Even though the Clinton-Mezvinsky wedding was two days ago, the Wall Street Journal (paywall) reports that paparazzi and out-of-towners are continuing to wander the streets of the Hudson Valley town, hoping the former first family is still there. They are most likely not. The Sunday brunch after the wedding was held a mile away in the town of Grasmere. However, attendees must have been tired—the reception reportedly lasted until 5 a.m.! more ›

That Other Rhinebeck Wedding Went Well Too

That Other Rhinebeck Wedding Went Well Too

Brooklyn teacher Emn Haddad-Friedman was worried that Chelsea Clinton's big day would ruin her wedding, which was set to take place in Rhinebeck yesterday. But it looks like she and her now-husband had nothing to worry about. Though they weren't interested in providing the press with any sound bites, the Daily News says guests had no problem getting to the 4 p.m. ceremony, despite all the road blocks. Though the bride's uncle say the Clinton's choice in venue shows his niece's good taste, another guest said the Clintons should have gone elsewhere. "The area has personal significance to us. The Clintons could have done theirs in Martha's Vineyard." Near all the riff-raff in Oak Bluffs? Never. more ›

Chelsea Clinton Getting Married Any Minute Now

Hey, did you know Chelsea Clinton is getting married in Rhinebeck, NY today? When we last left off, Bill Clinton had arrived in the Hudson Valley town and kibitzed with the townsfolk. One local described her meeting as "better than meeting George Clooney!" The Clinton-Mezvinsky wedding planner also sent bottles of wine to Rhinebeck's miffed residents, apologizing for keeping them out of the loop and warning them about "periodic road closures." But now, the day has finally arrived, porta-potties and all. more ›

Aww, Chelsea Clinton's Future Ex-Con Dad-In-Law Speaks

Chelsea Clinton will be marrying Marc Mezvinsky on Saturday and the city of Rhinebeck is flooded with the curious and security (one resident said to NY1, "I think I just saw secret servicemen over at the Burts Bees corner of CVS"). One of the proudest people is likely Mezvinsky's father, Edward, a former Congressman who went to prison for fraud. He told Inside Edition, "I’m remorseful for what happened, it was a terrible time, and I was punished for that. And I respect that and accept responsibility for what happened, and now I’m trying to move on and am grateful I have the opportunity for that." more ›

Daily News Describes Clinton Wedding as "Practical"

Daily News Describes Clinton Wedding as "Practical"

What does a now-estimated $3 million budget get a bride these days? $15,000 porta-potties, and modesty. That's what the Daily News attempts to argue by comparing Chelsea Clinton's upcoming wedding to other outlandish celebrity weddings. Ok so she doesn't have a "Swarovski-crystal-encrusted tuxedo made for a pet Chihuahua" like Carrie Underwood did, nor will she stuff "magnolia trees with white roses" like Fergie. She'll just reserve part of the budget for shutting down all the airspace above Rhinebeck, NY. Totally low-key. more ›

Chelsea Clinton's Porta-Potties Nicer Than Your Apartment

When you invite an estimated 500 people to your wedding, they're going to need a place to do their business. So if you have a budget of over $2 million, why not treat them to the best? TMZ got a look at the porta-potties Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky will supply at their wedding, which look like they have the square footage of most New York apartments—and more storage space too! Seriously, what are they storing under those sinks, Linda Tripp? The Clintons have reserved 4-6 of the trailers for the big day, which feature flushing toilets and stereo music, just to get the guests in the mood. The cost? $15,000. more ›

Chelsea Clinton's Wedding Means Hudson Valley Lockdown

Last week, two Norwegian journalists were arrested outside of Astor Courts, the 50-acre estate rumored to be the location of Chelsea Clinton's wedding to Marc Mezvinsky this Saturday. According to the AP, "Thomas Bjorn Nilsson, 43, of New York, and Kjerste Sortland, 41, of Snorova, Norway, were charged with a [trespassing] violation after they were stopped around 2 p.m. Wednesday on the" sprawling estate's ground. The journalists' editor said the fine will be paid, but the police were overreacting and that they were not trespassing, "We did not realize it was forbidden to take the picture of the gate of the house where the Clinton wedding is to be." Never underestimate the importance of a Clinton-connected gate. more ›

Chelsea Clinton's Wedding Is Ruining Everything

Chelsea Clinton's "Wedding of the Century" is set to be held in Rhinebeck, NY on July 31st at the Astor Courts estate in the area. And though a great time is sure to be had by all, one Brooklyn teacher is pissed. Emn Haddad-Friedman has been planning her wedding for the past two years, set to take place in Rhinebeck on the same day of the former first daughter's nuptials. She told Yahoo, "I know she's not doing it on purpose. But Chelsea Clinton has taken what was supposed to be a special day for me and turned it into hell." There's only one way to solve this: Bridezilla boxing! more ›

Chelsea Clinton Tells Bill To Drop 15 Pounds

Chelsea Clinton Tells Bill To Drop 15 Pounds

Former President Bill Clinton amused the audience at a fiscal summit in D.C. by revealing daughter Chelsea wants him to lose some weight before her wedding, "She doesn't think I'm in shape to handle it. You know, she told me the other day, she said, ‘Dad the only thing you gotta do is walk me down the aisle and you need to look good’So I said ‘Well, what's your definition?’ And she said: ‘Oh, about 15 pounds.’ So I'm halfway home." Bill Clinton On Future Son-In-Law

The Daily News caught up with former President Bill Clinton after a World AIDS Day symposium to ask him about daughter's engagement. Bubba said he was "very" excited about walking 29-year-old Chelsea down the aisle and said of her fiancee Marc Mezvinsky, "He's great. He's a great human being." (Apparently he had no comment on his future son-in-law's dad's various frauds related to the Nigerian black money scheme.) And for the very curious, the News adds that aides "cautioned that she might not be sporting her engagement ring immediately. The ring is in the shop getting properly sized." more ›

Chelsea to Introduce Hillary at DNC, McCain Loves Lieberman

The Daily News reports that Hillary Clinton's Democratic National Convention appearance will be introduced not by former president Bill but daughter Chelsea. The former First Daughter was active in campaigning for her mother, winning kudos for her poise. And apparently it was Hillary's idea--a source said, "[Barack Obama] has a problem with Hillary's more fanatical women supporters, and this is a way to help with that." David Shuster, MSNBC Mourning Chelsea Clinton Remark

David Shuster, MSNBC Mourning Chelsea Clinton Remark

Yet another example of foot-in-mouth syndrome due to the hours of punditry on TV, followed by an apology and suspension! Yesterday, while referring to Chelsea Clinton's campaigning on behalf of her mother, MSNBC correspondent David Shuster commented, "Doesn't it seem as if Chelsea is sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?" Yes, he totally said that. Or, as the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz writes, "Using a prostitution metaphor for the daughter of a presidential candidate is a surefire way for a journalist to get into trouble." more ›
