Did You And 21 Friends See The Nets Game For $2.42?

Apparently not, because the $.11 tickets on StubHub went unsold. The Times reports that a few $.25 tickets for last night's game set of a price war on the website, ending in 22 tickets available for a total of $2.42 (up to $12.37 with service fees). StubHub says the lowest ticket that sold was for $.48 and the average price was $18 for the matchup between the Eastern Conference's two worst teams. But all that should change when the Nets become the Brooklyn New Yorkers, since everyone will be willing to pay more for location. more ›

With heated speculation over his future as a Cleveland Cavalier, LeBron James made a "dramatic" appearance at the "LeBron James Appreciation Day" held at the University of Akron in his hometown, Akron, Ohio. The event was from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and most of the 4,000 attendees had left by 12:40; James showed up at 12:50 p.m., causing what The Chronicle-Telegram called a "circuslike atmosphere as several hundred fans rushed back into the 30,000-seat facility."
