Dan Aykroyd May Recast Bill Murray In Ghostbusters III, Let's Help

Dan Aykroyd May Recast Bill Murray In Ghostbusters III, Let's Help

For years, YEARS, we've been hearing about a Ghostbusters III. It's hard to keep up with all of the rumors and mumblings, so to recap: it may or may not involve the Apatow bros, or the original cast, or Anna Farris, or John Hodgman? (That last one is new to us.) But the latest to come from one of the only legit people involved, Dan Aykroyd, is that Bill Murray will definitely not be returning (which we sort of knew when he said he shredded the script). However, his character Peter Venkman may be. That's right, Aykroyd hinted in a recent interview that "Bill Murray may not return as Peter Venkman, and that the character could be played by a different actor." Which is a terrible idea! But even so, who would you cast? Our office is split between an older Venkmen, and a more youthful one, and you can see our picks above (sorry Jonah Hill, you didn't make the cut.) More importantly, should this movie even happen? more ›

Fun With Casting, As Pat Kiernan Returns To The Big Screen

Fun With Casting, As Pat Kiernan Returns To The Big Screen

Abel Ferrara's movie 4:44 Last Day On Earth just premiered at the 49th annual New York Film Festival, and it features NY1's (and New York City's) very own Pat Kiernan, who made a cameo in the film. George Whipple talked to the director about his coworker's time in front of the camera, and Ferrara gave him this message: "Pat, you outdid yourself, bro. We tried to get an actor to do you, but we couldn't. He couldn't come close." So... who could play Pat Kiernan on the big screen, if we were forced to have something less than the real thing? We asked Kiernan himself... more ›

Video: More Needed For Jersey Shore Casting Call!

Video: More Needed For Jersey Shore Casting Call!

Are fellow guidos and guidettes scared to share the screen with Snooki and The Situation? Last night The Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale hosted a Jersey Shore casting call, which MTV thought would pull in at least a few hundred of the fist-pumping, tanned nation's finest... but alas, they only got a few dozen. Those who did show up were pulled off the dance floor by casting agents, who then privately grilled them on camera. One told Newsday: "Tanned, toned, sexy, fist-pumping. We're looking for pretty much anybody that would be great on the show, blondes, brunettes, we need it all." The two winners would join the cast when they get back to Seaside Heights this summer (currently they're wearing out their welcome in South Beach). Perhaps the rain last night put the fear into the poofy-haired set, but tonight casting will take place again from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. In the meantime, enjoy this cramazing video: more ›
