Roughly 18 months. That's how much time you have if you want to get a legal taste of Beluga Caviar in the United States. Effective yesterday the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has extended its ban of beluga caviar from the Caspian Sea (instituted in September) to include the Black Sea basin as well, effectively banning the black stuff.

Sniffer Cat; Photo - AFPA fish sniffing cat are being used to combat smuggling - not the smuggling of artifacts from a Tsar or young Russian girls, but the smuggling of endangered fish. According to CNN, the Stavropol police adopted a cat who has quickly become known for his fish-sniffing prowess and now goes on spot checks of trucks with officers. One of the fish police are looking for is Caspian Sea Sturgeon, which produces caviar. The cat, naturally, has been fed the endangered fish.
