Gael Greene breaks the news that Esca's Dave Pasternack will open a fish shack at the new Citi Field. Grub Street checks in with Pasternack, who says that "the new Fish Shack would feature 'simple stuff' like fish-and-chips, fried clam sandwiches, and lobster rolls." Sounds delicious, but we'll have to wait until 2010 to eat it, unfortunately.

Michelin Guide Burns Rubber Through 565 Restaurants
The Michelin Guide announced selections today for its third New York Edition, which officially goes on sale Wednesday.
New Year's Eve-ning Dining
Okay, so you left it to the last minute once again. Never fear, there are still options for eating out on New Year's Eve. Time Out New York rounds up options for every budget, ranging from $20.07 snacks and apps at the Silverleaf Tavern (the bottomless glass of wine will cost you an additional $70, however), to a five course dinner at Cafe Gray including unlimited champagne and dancing for $550. Citysearch has a fairly long list, with most of the menus hovering around the $100 range, and Open Table lists restaurants serving their regular menus in addition to those with special New Year's Eve menus (we wouldn't mind spending our New Year's Eve at Blue Smoke, which is serving their regular menu that night -- any year is off to a great start with sidecars and ribs).
NYC's Michelin Restaurants
Charlie Suisman over at Manhattan User's Guide broke the French omerta on the New York City restaurants Michelin guide and listed the restaurants receiving 1, 2 or 3 stars. Only thirty-nine restaurants were reviewed. Here's a quick analysis:
