MUSIC: Scottish indie sensations Camera Obscura bring their pop and their rock to the Seaport tonight. They're joined by The Last Town Chorus. After that, there's only one more show down there this season!

MOVIE: It's certainly not the kind of night for an outdoor movie, so we suggest sitting in the cool a/c and watching the 1978 classic Dawn of the Dead. "Gone is the possibility of mankind’s dominance in this sequel to Night of the Living Dead; the zombies are in control now, with a group of AWOL soldiers and TV producers on the run from the staggering hordes. A deserted shopping mall offers a safe hideout, as well as the setup for Romero’s savage satire on consumer culture." The early screening will be introduced by producer Richard Rubenstein, more info here.

FILM: Who doesn't like a rendez-vous? Tonight come to Rendez-Vous with French Cinema. The event is in its 12th year and will introduce you to what's been playing on Parisian movie screens. Tonight is the first night and Olivier Dahan’s La Vie en Rose plays - the film will educate you on French legend Edith Piaf.

THEATER: Katharsis Theater Company has been developing The Polish Play for the past two years; it’s a fusion of Macbeth and Ubu Roi, the play by Alfred Jarry that was partially inspired by Macbeth. This work of Grand Guignol fusion, which mixes puppetry with live acting, swerves between broad satire, tragedy and plenty of ultra-violence. (Although puppets are decapitated and disemboweled on-stage, rest assured that no puppets are permanently harmed for this production.) Jordan Gelber, who some may recall from Avenue Q, plays Pere Ubu. Read about the rehearsal process on the company’s weblog to learn more about director Henry Wishcamper's search for shit squibs. - John Del Signore

A few years back we saw them do a set at Sin-e as "Wolfbait", they played some great covers including R Kelly's Bump n' Grind. So you sort of don't want to miss this show, as they're slated to play as Wolfbait this time as well.

With special appearances by DEBBIE HARRY and MISS GUY

The 2006 Bicycle Film Festival is here, kicking off in New York today, and then traveling to nine additional cities across the globe.

Movable Hype 7.0, our concert series, is TONIGHT! Come enjoy the music and some drink specials with us, won't you? Here's the lineup:

Movable Hype 7.0, our concert series, is this Monday April 17th! We couldn't be more excited about this show. Check out the lineup:

Aziz Ansari and his friends are taking over Pianos tomorrow night. Todd Barry and Nick Kroll are amongst those friends, but we hear there will be more (UPDATE: This just in, other friends include Leo Allen and Merlin and Zach. No last names, how mysterious!). Among the room full of funny there will also be a/v fun, like the debut screening of the new cut of "Illusionators" [watch the trailer here]. This is by the same team that created "Shutterbugs".

So far we've found nothing funny about the month of January, hopefully things will change starting this week. Check out our comedy picks:

The city is no longer awash in saffron, but we promise there is still a lot to do this weekend...

Last night was our Movable Hype 1.5 show at Pianos. Thanks to the bands and everyone who came out! We all had a lot of fun despite Pianos double booking problems, but hey, that stuff happens. Luckily, we already have Movable Hype 2.0 all set up and it's back at the Knitting Factory.
