Four men were arrested Tuesday and accused of selling heroin out of a Long Island beer distributor near two schools. Two Bronx men, Jason Cruz, 21, and Jeffrey Marmolejos, 22, were arrested after police purchased several bags of heroin from them at Wantagh Beverage. “The fact that it's next to the schools is what is of particular interest in this case,” said Detective Lt. [UPDATED BELOW] Yesterday the NYPD raided 13 Thames, a Bushwick-based art and performance space, arresting at least two residents/members of the Independent Anarchist Media (I AM) Collective, according to Free Williamsburg. The NYC Anarchist Film Festival is just days away, and that group has been holding up at 13 Thames organizing the event. Those involved posted the below video and statement:

Two plainclothes detectives entered first, followed quickly by a Lieutenant and vans full of blue shirt officers. After corralling everyone present in the back room, they searched the space and detained two members of the collective. The I AM collective was preparing for the NYC Anarchist Film Festival, a showcase of resistance movements and insurrectionary events from around the world presented from an anarchist and anti-authoritarian perspective.

Michael Douglas has undoubtedly reprised his Falling Down role by now; his son Cameron has been busted for being a big time crystal meth dealer, moving "pounds" of the drug since 2006, according to TMZ. The site reports that he faces 10 years to life in prison, and "According to his federal complaint filed in New York, DEA agents claim they ran a 3-year investigation, proving the 30-year-old actor sold 'multiple pounds' of crystal meth to several people—many of whom are now cooperating in the prosecution of Douglas." He's been charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of crystal meth, and also one count with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of "ice"—which for the non-drug savy is the purest form of meth. When he was busted in NYC, he was accepting $15,000 in cash in exchange for a promise to deliver a half pound of crystal meth, which the buyer referred to as "bath salts." Memo to lazy dudes: If you buzz your girlfriend into the building and she's not at your door in a timely manner, you need to put Guitar Hero on pause and get your ass downstairs. On Saturday night the girlfriend of a Greenwich Village man was taking longer than usual to get upstairs to his apartment, and when he finally went down to see what happened he found that she was being raped in the building's vestibule. This happened around 7 p.m. on lower Fifth Avenue, according to the Post. So be alert! At least in this case the boyfriend was able to subdue the attacker and call the cops; the alleged rapist, 28-year-old Dean Rogich, told detectives, "I followed her into the building so I could rob her." more ›
