What’s worth watching on food-related TV this week? Next Sunday is the finale of The Next Iron Chef (9pm on the Food Network). Michael Ruhlman has a comment from Chef Chris Cosentino on his blog about the airplane episode—he was clearly getting crowded by cameras, but for him the crowding was to the degree that he couldn’t work, and he wanted to clarify that fact “now that 1/2 the country thinks i am an asshole.”...

Last week we mentioned that Brendan Keefe, late of WCBS, is now and anchor at the ABC affiliate in Cincinnati, WCPO. He started this week and he revealed to the Cincinnati Post some of his reasons for leaving New York for Ohio. He told the paper, "We wanted a place to raise a family that we could call home for a long time."
In February rumors started to fly about Jimmy Fallon becoming the next Late Night host when Conan O'Brien leaves his current spot to take Jay Leno's spot. It's an after-hours game of musical chairs! (Though no one knows where Leno will end up, it is said he'll likely stay in the late night game.) NBC chief Rick Ludwin says that Fallon is now at the top of the short list for possible Late Night hosts.
Mr. Gonell, Mr. Ferrari, Ms. O’Connor and Mr. Torres, along with several other recruits, said that they knew being a police officer would never make them rich, but that their desire to join the force outweighed the financial hardship.

So we last left the cast burning all of their items in a post-tag sale, cleansing, "past be gone" bonfire...as Radiohead's played in the background. Has anyone "been pulled out of the aircrash" since? Not quite yet, in fact this last episode may have left some of the Fishers boarding a doomed plane.
This morning brought the surprising and sad news of John Ritter's death. He was 54, and had died of an undetected heart defect, at Providence St. Joseph in Burbank, the same hospital he was born in according to the Today show. Ritter had been hospitalized since last Thursday, when he collapsed on the set of his new hit, 8 Simple Rules For Dating My Daughter.
