Dancing With the Stars ended its season last week, but it just won't go away. To wit, former contestant Margaret Cho recently went on her blog to discuss third-place-finisher Bristol Palin's reason for joining the show: "The only reason Bristol was on the show was because Sarah Palin forced her to do it. Sarah supposedly blames Bristol harshly and openly (in the circles that I heard it from) for not winning the election, and so she told Bristol she 'owed' it to her to do DWTS so that 'America would fall in love with her again' and make it possible for Sarah Palin to run in 2012 with America behind her all the way. Instead of being supposedly 'handicapped' by the presence of her teen mom daughter, now Bristol is going to be an 'asset' - a celebrity beloved for her dancing."

Levi's Mom Wants Invite To Palin-Johnston Wedding
While Sarah and Todd Palin gave a measured statement about daughter Bristol's engagement to Levi "Yeah, I Made Up Stories About You AND Posed For Playgirl" Johnston, Johnston's mother and sister were definitely not restrained when chatting with Inside Edition. His sister Mercede said, "I never thought this would happen. I don't think it's sincere. I think that there's something going on. Since he and Bristol got together, I haven't heard a word from him. When he told me that they were thinking about getting back together, I just started crying."
Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston: Engaged Again! [UPDATE]
[UPDATE BELOW with Palin family statement] Is this yet another sign that Sarah Palin really is running in 2012? The former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate's daughter says she and Levi Johnston are engaged again. Bristol Palin, who has an 18-month-old son, Tripp, with Johnston and whose out-of-wedlock pregnancy became a 2008 campaign talking point and tabloid obsession (and RNC prop), told US Weekly, "We got engaged two weeks ago. It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents."
Video: Dave Tries To Smooth Things Over With Palin Posse
If someone woke up from a nine-month slumber last night around midnight, having them tune into probably would have been a good way to ease them back into their new present. There was good old Dave, in the midst of a public feud with one-half of the McCain-Palin ticket, spending a good eight minutes of his nightly broadcast dedicated to butting heads in classic Letterman style: dry, detached and feigning ignorance.
Alaskan Teens Take Over Morning Talk Shows
Bristol Palin, Alaskan First Daughter/Mother of First Grandson, is now a teen ambassador for the Candie's Foundation, which has the "mission to educate America's youth about the devastating consequences of teenage pregnancy." Which means the teen mom appeared on Good Morning, America and the Today Show to say, "Regardless of what I did personally, I just think that abstinence is the only ... 100 percent foolproof way to prevent pregnancy... It's a hard choice, but it's the safest choice and it's the best choice." Today is National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, after all.
Tyra Banks Gets Exclusive Interview With Levi Johnston
Set your DVRs—this Monday, the Tyra Banks Show will air the model-turned-entrepreneur's "exclusive" interview with Levi Johnston, ex-fiance of Bristol Palin. Johnston, along with mother Sherry and sister Mercede, came to New York City to tell his side of his romance with the daughter of Alaska Governor—and possible 2012 hopeful—Sarah Palin. From the press release:
Levi, who was sharing a room with Bristol at the Palin residence prior to their breakup, tells Tyra he believes Sarah Palin knew they were having sex and that they practiced safe sex, “most of the time.”more ›
Levi Johnston: He & Bristol Palin Must Mature Before Hitching
After confirming that he and fiancee (and the mother of his son) Bristol Palin, daughter of Alaska governor Sarah Palin, had broken up, Levi Johnston is appearing on Good Morning America today. The new father (son Tripp was born in December) claims they broke up a week ago and suggested it's not over, "We'll just remain friends for now. We're both cool with that decision, and we'll see... We were just, we were in a fight. And trying to see if we can make things work. But this is what it kind of ended up turning into... It's just us not, me not being mature enough, or something, and having a kid and thinking ... it could be better -- better for us to separate for a while." Spoken like a 19-year-old! As for Bristol, she took her mom's place at a state mini golf event while the Governor was helping a Girl Scout troop sell cookies (the troop was robbed!) at a supermarket. Palin, with kids Willow, Piper and Trig plus grandson Tripp in tow, told People that her 18-year-old daughter was doing great.
Engagement to Nowhere: Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston Break Up
Famous Alaskan teen parents Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston have confirmed their break-up to the Associated Press. The couple's relationship and pregnancy became an unavoidable talking point since Palin's mother, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, was the 2008 Republican VP candidate; the couple made a very public appearance at the Republican National Convention and their baby Tripp was born on Dec. 27. Today, Johnston said that they decided to mutually break up "a while ago" but his sister Mercede told Star there were bigger problems, "Levi tries to visit Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible. She tells him he can't take the baby to our house because she doesn't want him around 'white trash'!" Bristol Palin, who just last month said they were getting married, is "devastated" about the Star article and said, "Unfortunately, my family has seen many people say and do many things to 'cash in' on the Palin name. Sometimes that greed clouds good judgment and the truth."
Levi Johnston Speaks!
A month after VP candidate Sarah Palin announced her daughter was pregnant, the baby's father is speaking to the media elite--the AP reporter outside his house. Levi Johnston, 18, who dropped out of high school to become an apprentice electrician, said he and Bristol Palin, 17, "both love each other" and weren't pressured, "We were planning on getting married a long time ago with or without the kid. That was the plan from the start." Also, Palin fans can send blue booties with rifles on them: "I'm looking forward to having him. I'm going to take him hunting and fishing." And while Johnston said Barack Obama "seems like a good guy. I like him," he's rooting for John McCain and Palin: "I just hope she wins. She's my future mother-in-law. She better win."
What RNC? Palin Grandbaby News Dominates Media
The Republican party may be trying to make the best of their Gustav-affected convention, but the news that vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's 17-year-old daughter is pregnant has thrown a lot of attention onto things other than why John McCain should be president.
VP Candidate Sarah Palin Says Daughter is Pregnant
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin confirmed that her eldest daughter Bristol, 17, is five months pregnant. Guess that scurrilous pregnancy-conspiracy gossip that the youngest Palin (baby Trig) is actually Bristol's will have to end. Palin and her husband issued a statement, "Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family," and asked for the media to respect their privacy. Question: When is Fox News going to use a "Baby Mama" graphic, because wouldn't that be "fair and balanced"?
