Passover starts tomorrow night at sundown -- are you ready? Sure, you might have gotten a box of matzoh or two to get you through the week, but what are you doing for your seder? Since the seders fall in the middle of the week this year, some of us may not be able to travel to celebrate with our families outside of the tri-state region, but there are plenty of restaurants offering to fill the void by offering Passover seders of their own.

Shortly after being seated at Tabla Bread Bar, your server will deliver a bowl bearing a gift for the table. The contents may elicit a string of emotions: first confusion, then maybe insult, and finally sheer delight. The surprise gift is popcorn—that most American of all snack foods, and the last thing you'd expect to see in an upscale Indian restaurant like this. It's spiced, and served in place of bread and butter, to stave off your immediate hunger.
