Jets star wide receiver Braylon Edwards pled guilty to driving drunk in a plea deal today, successfully avoiding jail time. Edwards admitted to driving while intoxicated last fall, hours after the Jets had defeated the New England Ugg Boots Spokesmen—he must pay a $500 fine, and continue to participate in an NFL substance-abuse program, which he had already enrolled in. "Now it's just really time to focus on football again. I feel like it came to a fair conclusion," he excitedly told reporters after leaving court today.

Braylon Edwards Questions Accuracy Of DWI Breathalyzer
Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards appeared at Manhattan criminal court this morning, where lawyer Peter Frankel filed motions challenging the accuracy of the breathalyzer tests Edwards was administered when he was arrested for DWI in September. Frankel said, "They are looking to bolster their case as much as they can, with as much evidence as they can, which is normal and to be expected. We don’t feel that’s evidence that should be allowed, which is why I’m filing additional motions."
Sports Groupies Target Dumb Jocks For Cars
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, the NY Post was investigating the lifestyle of sports groupies, with nary a comment from any spouse. The Post has an inexplicable, but completely welcome, feature on sports groupies today, and it turns out they are a surprisingly well-organized online community who share advise and experiences on site Baller Alert. And in the shifting sands of athlete hook-ups, players today are "less likely to meet girls at a strip club or bar than they are on Facebook" and Twitter. So, contact some player on Facebook, and you might end up having his babies?

Braylon Edwards Sad, But Not Embarrassed About DWI
Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards addressed his Tuesday morning DWI yesterday, telling reporters, "I don’t understand the black eye that this would put on the organization. Because this isn’t a representation of what this organization is about. This isn’t what Rex Ryan, Mike Tannenbaum and Woody teach. It’s isn’t. This is a situation that I’m in - that I put myself in. So I don’t see how this could be a black eye for them. More so be a black eye for myself if anything... It was sad for me (being) in that situation. I don’t know if I would describe it (as) embarrassed.”

The Jets' wide receiver, who was arrested around 5:15 a.m. yesterday morning at 12th Avenue and West 34th Street (hours after teammate Jerricho Cotchery's fundraiser at Hudson Terrace), told reporters as he left the Criminal Court building, "There will be plenty of time to talk. I'll address everybody." Maybe he'll mention why he allegedly wanted the cops to let him go when they pulled him over?
Jets Wide Receiver Braylon Edwards Arrested For DWI (UPDATE)
Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards, who caught a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Pats, was arrested for a DWI in Manhattan this morning. Last Night's Action: Ouch
Jacksonville 24 Jets 22: The Jets rallied from an 11-point fourth quarter deficit only to see the Jaguars comeback and win the game. Trailing 21-10, New York kicked a field goal at the start of the fourth quarter and then the defense forced the Jaguars to go three and out. New York then launched a 16-play drive that culminated in a touchdown run by Thomas Jones to put them up 22-21. They went for two, but Braylon Edwards dropped the conversion attempt, a mistake that proved to be very costly.

Jets, Dolphins Take Summer Rivalry to Field

Jets Face Stiffer Challenge Against Browns
As the Jets look ahed to their game Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, they may be hoping that's where they are in a season or two. Cleveland, like the Jets, is coached by a former defensive protege of Patriots Coach Bill Belichick. Romeo Crennell had a rough go of it during the first few seasons, but he now has an offense filled with playmakers like Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow and run by an unheralded...
