Deer Found Bound And Injured In Brooklyn Waters
Earlier today we got an alert about a few deer being rescued from the water under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge... but it turns out the animals weren't taking a little pleasure swim, after all. Tragically, one of the deer was found tied up under the Brooklyn side of the bridge, with its legs bound, according to CityRoom. Two other deer were nearby on the rocks, and reported to the police via a 911 call. The officers on the scene "said they were likely to be turned over to Animal Care and Control."
Bogus UPS Deliveryman Binds, Robs Nanny
Last Thursday night, a fake UPS deliveryman bound a nanny and robbed a West Village brownstone. The Post reports that a 50-something white male, pretending to be a UPS worker, first asked the nanny to sign for a fake package and then placed a sharp object against the back of her head, forcing her into the apartment. He tied her up (but not the 3-year-old charge) and took a MacBook, Apple TV, cable modem, camera and $40. When leaving, he told the nanny she could untie herself in 10 minutes. Police are investigating whether this home invasion is connected to an earlier break-in at an apartment on 9th near 5th Avenue.
Bound and Gagged in Greenpoint
Miss Heather refers to this scenario she snapped a shot of as "mildly disturbing," but the photo of a man bound and gagged in Greenpoint is seriously unsettling. What landed this man in such a precarious situation? Miss H tells us the scene wasn't just a gag or from a movie shoot...but was very real. While details are unfolding, what is known is that the incident took place at a restaurant in the neighborhood, between employees there. UPDATE: Miss Heather has just added on her blog that everyone turned out okay. Guess this is just some people's way of resolving a conflict.
