It's officially spring, and that means lots of NY Times wedding announcements. Twenty-six, to be exact.

It's still officially the winter, so there just ten weddings announced this weekend in the NY Times. Let's get to the good stuff:

While it's unclear whether Paul Cortez will keep his sometimes-absent lawyer as his defense attorney, there's a big article in the NY Times about Cortez's friends proclaiming his innocence. The 25 year old Cortez is on trial for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Catherine Woods. Woods, who moved from Ohio to make it as a dancer in New York ended up working strip club Flashdancers to support herself, was found murdered in her Upper East Side apartment after Thanksgiving 2005. Evidence, including a bloody boot print and numerous cellphone calls to Woods that stopped after her time of death, led police to arrest Cortez.

Scientists have found that men who exercise will add years to their sex lives. Believing that the mention of "sex" will be the key to get men to exercise and therefore protect their hearts, scientists are eager to get out the word about the exercise and sex. And Gothamist loves this: Penis as barometer for total health. “Maybe the penis is like a barometer of what could happen to your heart and to your brain for stroke,” says Dr. William Steers, professor and chairman of the urology department at the University of Virginia. Dr. Irwin Goldstein, at Boston University's School of Medicine, adds, “Go in IC (intensive care) and ask how many men were impotent before your heart attack, and more than 80 percent in any study had erectile dysfunction way before their heart attacks."
