Things were getting a little quiet over at The Village Voice, but now they've gone and started a racket again by firing their new editor, David Blum. At first watching the decline of the paper was somewhat amusing, but now it's just getting sad.

Lately, we've been hearing a lot about bands fueling their vans with vegetable oil and biodiesel fuels for cross country tours. It seems that there are a ton of folks doing this, so we're wondering why more aren't. It's cheap (usually free) and helps the environment, so why not?

Time looks at the two women behind the questionnaire, Emma Taylor and Lorelei Sharkey, as they promote their new book, Big Bang: Nerve's Guide to the New Sexual Universe. Gothamist is amused how Time also has to almost backpedal and establish that these are nice girls, not sexually rapacious city girls:

Ryan said: "I got theories with this last year, with this woman, this Joumana Kidd, who wants to be a TV star. She wants face time on camera. You know what, the great way to get face time on camera, bring the cute little precocious kid. Oh great, I mean, she needs, I'd like to smack her."
