Well, would you look at that: Now the State Senate Democrats are going to head to Albany next week for the special session that Governor David Paterson called. The Dems had called it a "photo-op" for the Governor and the Daily Politics reports, "Insiders say not showing would have left them vulnerable to attacks that they are not taking the state's fiscal crisis seriously. Senate leadership fell in line this morning." However, a spokesman for Senate Dems said, "It was about how to make the most productive use of our time while continuing productive negotiations with the governor." So maybe Albany isn't like Bosnia or Tehran after all!

Hillary Tells Bill to Buzz Off About Bosnia
Bill Clinton admitted that his wife gave him a talking-to after his clumsy attempt to clear up her "misspoke"n statements about a 1996 trip to Bosnia. The former president said, "Hillary called me and said 'You don't remember this. You weren't there, let me handle it.' I said, 'Yes ma'am.'"
Bill Clinton Brings Hillary's Bosnia Boo-Boos Back
Just as media attention on his wife's incorrect statements about her trip to Bosnia had essentially died down, Bill Clinton decided to bring them up again. ABC News' Political Radar says the former President, who spent two days not campaigning, "eagerly discussed" various issues with a crowd in Indiana before blaming the media for blowing up Hillary's misstatements.
"A lot of the way this whole campaign has been covered has amused me. But there was a lot of fulminating because Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated and immediately apologized for it, what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995. Did y'all see all that. Oh, they blew it up. Let me just tell you...And you woulda thought, you know, that she'd robbed a bank the way they carried on about this. And some of them when they're 60 they'll forget something when they're tired at 11:00 at night, too."You can read his full statement here (he describes the dangers of Bosnia in what was actually 1996). Of course, Senator Clinton did make the remarks three times (December 2007, February 2008, and last month in the morning), and only apologized a week after the last instance, which makes her husband's defense perfect fodder for pundit programming, like the Dan Abrams show (clip above).
Bosnians Don't Buy Clinton's "I Misspoke" Excuse
The Post's cover story takes Senator Hillary Clinton to task for falsely claiming she faced sniper fire during her 1996 trip to Bosnia. Not only does the Post speak to former acting president Ejup Ganic, there's also comment from then 8-year-old girl who greeted Clinton and read her a poem.
