To promote his new book "First Stop 2 Forever: My Story," the Biebs headed to New York yesterday to sign 1,000 copies for fans, many of who had been camping outside the Barnes & Noble on Fifth Avenue for days. One fan told Sky News, "It was amazing. It took like five seconds though and I had, I was waiting since Wednesday, sleeping over, but I don't know.. I love him." Didn't you have a Thanksgiving dinner to go to?

Five-Year-Olds All About The Situation
MTV, take note: the city's kindergartners are obsessed with the Jersey Shore. Yesterday, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino was at the Borders book store in Midtown, signing copies of what will surely be a Pulitzer contender, "Here’s the Situation: A Guide To Creeping on Chicks, Avoiding Grenades, and Getting In Your GTL on the Jersey Shore." And among those in line were twin 5-year-olds Amanda and Taylor, whose mother brought them all the way from Middle Village to see the "star." “When the girls woke up for school this morning, they asked if today was the day they were going to see The Situation,” their mother, Jennifer Rup, told the Post. “Taylor thinks he’s sexy, and Amanda likes his stomach.” Five-year-olds know what "sexy" is?
Zombies Invade Park Slope! (Photos)
Last night the Park Slope Barnes & Noble was overrun with zombies! The bookstore held a signing for Roger Ma's and Y.N. Heller's "Zombie Combat Manual," which featured a live combat demonstration and a "zombifying" makeup artist. However, many attendees brought their own makeup and costumes, turning the Cookbook section of the Barnes & Noble basement into a B-movie horror scene. Ma said he wrote the book for everyone who goes to Lowe's and "looks at shovels as possible weapons against the undead," and after a brief reading he brought out his zombie dummy "Bob" to demonstrate the "Straicirs Technique" of circling the enemy and striking from the side. Attendants got a chance to try the technique with a variety of weapons.
Ed Begley, Jr., Actor, Author, Environmentalist
At this point, it's hard to tell whether Ed Begley, Jr. is more famous for his decades of acting or his decades of environmentalism. Sure, he's logged over 200 appearances on stage, film and television, including his Emmy-winning breakout role on St. Elsewhere and his priceless turn on Arrested Development. But his funniest performance is arguably his self-effacing cameo as a hardcore green activist in the classic 1999 Simpsons episode "Homer to the Max", in which he's shown driving a nonpolluting go-cart powered by his "own sense of self-satisfaction." Off screen, he's embraced this role of ardent environmentalist with an infectious positivity and seemingly tireless commitment to reducing his own impact on an increasingly injured ecosystem. The many green improvements to his largely solar powered, energy efficient home have been documented in the amusing and informative reality show Living With Ed, and now a newly published book offers a wide range of changes readers can implement to make their lifestyles more sustainable. Called Living Like Ed, it's as inspiring as it is handy, and Begley will be at the Strand bookstore at 7pm tonight for a reading and book signing organized by Environmental Defense.

Television Watching: Stormy Weather
WABC’s Bill Evans is the latest local news talent to author a disaster novel about the city with his book “Category 7”, which he co-authored with Marianna Jameson. The book is the story about a man made hurricane heading towards New York. The book shouldn’t be confused with the 2005 made for TV movie Category 7: The End of the World, which was also about a deadly storm. Evans will be doing a book signing Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Lincoln Center Barnes and Noble, just a couple blocks away from WABC.

THEATER: Dance-theatre maverick Pina Bausch returns to the Brooklyn Academy of Music with Nefés, which is described as an ode to Istanbul, 'the city of water'. Originally conceived in 2002, Nefés (Turkish for "breath") “quickly became a life-affirming response to Istanbul's bouts with political upheaval. But rather than echoing the violence, Bausch invests her signature humor and emotional pathos with an acute sense of calm. Set to an eclectic score featuring Turkish songs, tangos from Astor Piazzolla, and classical guitar, Nefés also features massive video screens with which the performers interact.” - John Del Signore

Upcoming
Friday the 13th stopped being scary for us when we were younger, rebellious and declaring things like "13, in fact, is our lucky number". We embraced the superstition and turned it in to our lucky day. Or, as it turns out, just another day. Anyway, we were hoping that some theater in this city would be showing Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan, but no such...luck. You'll have to deal with these other non-scary events:
