Reverend Al's B-day Bash Turns Into Awkward Political Affair

Saturday's weekly meeting of Reverend Al Sharpton's National Action Network was a little extra spirited yesterday, the gathering being used as a birthday party for the Rev, who was turning 55. But the festive occasion didn't stop Bill Thompson from using it as a pitch to its attendees to make sure they lend a hand to a campaign that could use it. Thompson said, "We have 32 days until the election, 32 days. Over the next 32 days, I need each and everyone of you involved in the election, knocking on doors, grabbing your friends, saying to your neighbors, 'We can take this city back and put someone in City Hall who can stand up and fight for all of us.'" Hope he at least brought a card.

One of the key factors in Roger Clemens condemnation of the Mitchell Report and the testimony of his former trainer Brian McNamee is the pitcher's assertion that he never attended a birthday at Jose Canseco's Florida home ten years ago. A photo may exist, however, that shows Clemens at that very party posing with an 11-year-old fan.

MUSIC: Of course we suggest you come hang out with us tonight at our 4th Birthday Party, and 11th Movable Hype show. The show starts at 7:30pm, here are the details and some mp3s:

As we've been mentioning, Movable Hype 11.0 is coming up fast, and the show will also be our 4th Birthday Party! We've introduced you to the host, and two of the bands, and now we have the rest of the lineup for you.

We announced the first band in our 4th Birthday Party/11th Movable Hype show lineup last week (White Rabbits), and now a little flashback to the 10th show. Filmed by Autopilot, here is Ohio band Bad Veins, playing their 6th show ever.

Thanks to all of the bands that played last night, and to all of you who came out. Our Movable Hype show turned two last night, and did so with a bang! The Subjects, Tall Hands, Bad Veins and Apes & Androids all rocked the house, and we enjoyed every second of it.

We're excited to announce the next show in the Movable Hype series, which also happens to be our 3rd Birthday Party. So buy a ticket and bring us presents, here are the details:
