Betty White's team of senior pranksters have been spotted in Park Slope. The 90-year-old actress has a new show called Off Their Rockers, which is basically Punk'd but with White instead of Ashton Kutcher. Happy Belated, Betty White!
Golden Girl Betty White turned 89-years-young this week, and has been in New York City celebrating. She started out last night with a visit to the Late Show with David Letterman, where she told the host that one of her hobbies these days is vodka (luckily, he had some on hand). Betty White Wins Emmy For Hosting SNL
At yesterday's Creative Arts Emmys ceremony, Betty White won an Emmy for "Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy" for her stint hosting Saturday Night Live in May. SNL asked her to host after a Facebook campaign went viral, which she mentioned in her monoloque (see video after the jump). White wasn't present to pick up her Emmy, but SNL head writer Seth Meyers Tweeted, "Congrats to Betty White on winning an Emmy last night for her SNL hosting job. Just so afraid it will go to her head." Other winners of Creative Arts Emmys are listed here, like Neil Patrick Harris, who won for his special guest star appearance on Glee. The Primetime Emmys are next Sunday, 8/29.
Betty White Is Golden On Saturday Night Live
The highly-anticipated Saturday Night LIve with 88 year-old host Betty White did not disappoint, as the "Golden Girl" played Macgruber's grandmother, a straight-talking granny and an ex-con trying to scare kids straight. And she also made fun of Facebook, When I first heard about the campaign to get me to host Saturday Night Live, I didn't know what Facebook was. And now that I do know what it is, I have to say it sounds like a huge waste of time."
Which Commercial Won the Super Bowl?
So, how 'bout those commercials? USA Today has a ranking of all the Super Bowl ads, which places the Snickers commercial featuring Betty White in the #1 slot. A bit further down, that car commercial that's narrated by Michael C. Hall, has Noah Kalina staring into a camera again and lets women across America know their husbands f*cking HATE THEM and just want to drive their Dodges, baby... placed #23; the Simpsons shilling for Coca-Cola comes in at #30; and the Christian group's (actually not all that controversial) anti-abortion commercial placed #54. You can watch all 63 commercials there, or at CBS.
