The season really gets underway this week so a lot of old favorites like The Simpsons, Heroes, and Boston Legal (along with some that shouldn’t be like The Batchelor) are back so you do know what to expect with them.

Congratulations to everyone graduating this month! As NYU's commencement was today, with speaker jazz musician Wynton Marsalis, we decided to list the many NYC commencement speakers, with help from The Chronicle of Higher Education (if we've missed any or gotten it wrong, let us know in comments):

The Tony Awards are tonight, and if you're like Gothamist, you're going to watch the shows because you secretly know more than you should, given how few musicals and plays you actually saw last year, about all the nominees because you just have too much time your hands (we love Audra McDonald, but if she gets her fourth Tony tonight, we're officially calling the Tonys the "Emmys"). That and Wolverine shimmying around in sequins. Yes, the other Tony will be season finale ing tonight, so we take the lead from the president of the League of American Theaters, Jed Bernstein: "First of all, 'The Sopranos' are going to be rerun all week, and I think people really should take that into account. And I'm sure that at 10 o'clock, Hugh Jackman will announce who was whacked." Well, actually we'll be watching the Sopranos as soon as the Tonys are over, thanks to the modern miracle of home entertainment recording devices.

This positive review for NBC's "Mr. Sterling" from David Bianculli of the Daily News surprised me, because I've found Josh Brolin pretty wooden. A reviewer likened his looks to being "Cro-Magnon" which aplies to his acting, too, except in Flirting with Disaster. He should play gay federal agents more often. Though my fingers are crossed because it also stars Audra McDonald, the luminous Broadway actress, I don't know if I can actually bring myself to watch it.
