Rapper Jeffrey Atkins AKA Ja Rule began serving a two-year state sentence last month for attempted possession of a firearm, but yesterday he was sentenced to 28 months and ordered to forfeit $1.1 million for failing to file his federal income taxes. Wearing an orange jumpsuit, the Daily News reports that Atkins told the court, "I was a young man who made a lot of money—I'm getting a little choked up—I didn't know how to deal with these finances, and I didn't have people to guide me, so I made mistakes." Atkins pled guilty in March to failing to pay taxes on the $3 million he earned between 2004 and 2006. more ›

Devon Hurd — the sexting, stalking creeper who has been harassing both singer Ashanti and her mother (and other family members) — is, surprise, crazy! At least, according to an alternate juror on the case, who told the NY Post, "He clearly seemed delusional. I have no idea what that jury is going to do, but I hope they don't convict." To convict 31-year-old, they'll need to prove he had intent to harrass... but it's possible he's "too kooky to convict," as the paper says. more ›

Today singer Ashanti's mother, who has been the victim of obsessive sexting from her daughter's stalker, recalled some of the disturbing behavior her family has witnessed from Devar Hurd. After nearly a year without roller-skating, the pastime returned to Coney Island with the opening of the Lola Staar Dreamland Roller Rink yesterday. The star-studded event - Marissa Tomei, Ashanti, and of course Lola Staar (aka Dianna Carlin) were there - looked like a grand ole time. The portable roller-rink is located in the Childs Restaurant Building at 21st St. and the Boardwalk, where Carlin believes she can reach an agreement to use the building until a permanent tenant is found. more ›
