One year ago Lady Gaga and her family decided to do what wealthy people do and invest in a restaurant. In their case, an Upper West Side spot called Vince & Eddie's that they had frequented over the years. But that investment seemed to turn to dust when the restaurant suddenly shuttered in March. But maybe that was part of the plan? Apparently Gaga's papa, Joe Germanotta, has taken over the space and is aiming to open a restaurant there around Thanksgiving. And it might (might!) even have an Oprah-endorsed chef manning the kitchen.

Your Next Bowl of Oatmeal May Be Free
Complimentary oatmeal and “energy smoothies” will be available next tomorrow morning in Times Square from 7-10:30. Oprah’s former personal chef Art Smith will be doling out oatmeal personally from 7-8 a.m.; the hot breakfast stunt, taking place smack dab in the middle of Times Square, is being held to announce the formation of a new “end childhood hunger” campaign. The Quaker Oats Co. is teaming up with Smith and organization Share Our Strength for something called the “Go Project,” which will be introduced next week with the tagline “Go Humans Go,” which sounds something like a weird radio telescope pep rally cry from outer space. On Monday, bring a piece of non-perishable food to the oatmeal bonanza; a food drive is also taking place at the event.
Burger Bash Recap, a.k.a. Major Meat Coma
The aroma of cooking meat wafted as far as the BQE from the NYC Wine and Food Festival's Rachael Ray Burger Bash last night. Throngs of meat-lovers descended upon the Tobacco Warehouse to sample 18 burgers and vote (by text message) for their favorite.
