Between fake terrorist alerts and scandals big and small, this just might be the Best Best of the -ists ever. We're exhausted just thinking about it.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly discussed the scourge that are LED devices with Aqua Teen Hunger Force characters on them yesterday. Kelly said, "In hindsight, [Interference Marketing] should have thought a little more about this, certainly in a post-9/11 world. They had wires hanging out of some of them. It's reasonable to look a little askance at these things." Also: "We get about 6,000 suspicious-package calls a year in New York, but we got no calls for this." Hmm, we wonder if adult swim has demographic info on ATHF viewers - are there more in NYC than Boston?

First things first: According to WNBC, the NYPD says that NYC marketing firm Interference Inc. gave them a list of 41 locations where the Aqua Teen Hunger Force LED devices were hung (38 in Manhattan, including the Meatpacking District, Greenwich Village, LES, and 3 in Brooklyn). The NYPD only found two which were at 33rd Street and the West Side Highway, which can only mean that everyone who passed by these things and heard the news last night must have taken them! And does anyone know what the other locations were? Gothamist is curious to know where Interference thinks ATHF fans are. Let us know in the comments!

Breathe easy, New York City - the NYPD has removed the LED pieces with Aqua Teen Hunger Force's mooninite Ignignokt from locations. It's unclear where they were, but WNBC reported that one was at 54th Street and 9th Avenue. And don't worry, folks, the Boston police have arrested Peter Berdovsky for planting the LED devices. Berdovsky's website, Zebbler.com, shows the locations of 20 devices (or, as the Massachusetts authorities are calling them, "hoax devices").

Up in Boston, parts of the city were at a standstill when the police discovered a variety of suspicious packages. Streets were closed and mass transit was suspended as the police investigated... and found out the packages are part of a promotion for Aqua Teen Hunger Force! Seriously, major roads, a bridge, subway stations, and part of the Charles River were shut down for that.
