When Pretzel Crisps sprinkled the city with an ad campaign that read: You Can Never Be Too Thin, they were so publicly criticized that they eventually apologized and took the ads down. Turns out they have now been replaced with a sensible campaign that doesn't at all place importance on being too thin. Just kidding! This one is equally bad, using a phrase that Kate Moss was once criticized for spouting, with many critics noting it can encourage girls to become anorexic. That phrase is: Tastes As Good As Skinny Feels.
Rachael Ray Show Employee Suing for Discrimination
You may have already learned, with equal parts dread and anticipation, that TV personality and terrorist-scarf-wearer Rachael Ray is writing a memoir. Working title: EVOhno. Anyway, now it looks like she’ll have to add another chapter about eating disorders and workplace sensitivity, as an anorexic ex-employee has just filed a lawsuit in New York State Supreme court against CBS and The Rachael Ray Show.
Columbia Agrees to Some of Hunger Strikers' Demands
That group of Columbia University students staging a hunger strike is at least a little victorious, if starving, today. Last night, the university agreed to a number of demands relating to the students' concerns that not enough was being down to encourage ethnic studies and understanding other cultures (especially in the wake of recent hate crimes). Columbia Hunger Strike Update: Striker Passes Out
The Columbia University students' hunger strike to protest Columbia's non-inclusive attitudes about redevelopment and curriculum continues with one less striker. Just after midnight on Sunday, a post went on up on the Columbia Hunger Strike website saying, "This evening, one hunger striker was admitted to St. Luke's hospital.
