According to the NY Post, both hipsters and suits volunteer to hang out with and walk the shelter's 27 dogs during their open hours Monday through Thursday evenings. A manager told the paper, "A lot of people won't admit it because they want you to think they're there because it's a good thing to do. About 50 dogs rescued from puppy mills in Utah and overcrowded shelters in Missouri arrived in Long Island on Friday, where they will be put up for adoption before the holidays.
