Caddyshack Quote Worked Into Judge's Ruling Against Giuliani

Fulfilling what must have been a life-long dream, a federal judge quoted from Caddyshack in dismissing Andrew Giuliani's golf lawsuit against Duke University. All together now: So he's got that going for him. You may recall that Andrew, son of Rudolph the Red Faced Mayor, is suing the school for kicking him off the varsity golf team. He says he was promised "lifetime access" to Duke's golf facilities by ex-coach Rod Myers, but then a new coach tossed him into the rough. more ›

Giulianis Allegedly Involved in Dirty Putt-Putt Politics

Giulianis Allegedly Involved in Dirty Putt-Putt Politics

When was the last time a Giuliani got some good press? Today's Post checks in with onetime mayoral inauguration day superstar Andrew, a few months after it was reported that he is suing Duke University after being thrown off their golf team by Coach OD Vincent for bad behavior. Specifically, as former teammate Brian Kim puts it, "He threw an apple at me point-blank, and it shattered on my face." Since then, it's alleged that Andrew's mother Donna Hanover has offered to donate $1 million to the favorite charity of one player's parents in order to garner a vote to get him reinstated on the team. And Coach Vincent believes that he is being followed, possibly by the same private investigator the family hired who has been calling teammates. Despite being one of the weaker members of the team last year, Giuliani still says his plans are to go pro. more ›

(Andrew) Giuliani is a Jerk, Says Source

Back when he was seven years-old and fighting for attention at the podium of his father's mayoral inauguration, it may have been harsh to call Andrew Giuliani a brat. Now he's twenty-two and suing the Duke Golf team for getting kicked off by coach O.D. Vincent after several incidents of bad behavior that included throwing an apple at one of his teammates. more ›

Kicked Off Golf Team, So Andrew Giuliani Sues Duke

Kicked Off Golf Team, So Andrew Giuliani Sues Duke

Andrew Giuliani, son of former mayor Rudy Giuliani, filed a federal lawsuit against Duke University, claiming he was unfairly dismissed from the golf team. Per the Daily News, the lawsuit contends coach O.D. Vincent suspension over trivial incidents like "driving too fast out of a parking lot, breaking a driver, getting into an confrontation with a teammate" was ill-advised. Also claimed: Vincent made Giuliani's teammates turn against him," comparing his tactics to The Lord of the Flies. When talking to reporters, Andrew Giuliani pointedly thanked his mom and stepdad, but not his dad (who he's not that close to), saying, "I love my father very much. I just decided not to ask him to get involved in the situation." Yeah, 9/11 probably isn't a strong argument for this matter. more ›

More Rudy Accounting (Estranged Wife Edition)

Okay, so we've heard about how Rudy Giuliani's mayoral administration billed his police security detail expenses - accrued during trips to the Hamptons, possibly visiting then-mistress Judi Nathan - to various obscure city agencies. And then there are reports that Nathan, now married to the former mayor, used her NYPD security detail to chauffeur friends and family. Naturally, now there's talk of the police security expenses of Giuliani's then-wife Donna Hanover. The Post's David Seifman... more ›

Giuliani's Daughter Must Really Hate Him

Giuliani's Daughter Must Really Hate Him

Former mayor Rudy Giuliani may have participated in a Republican debate last night, but all anyone wants to talk about is how his possibly estranged daughter and incoming Harvard freshman Caroline joined a Barack Obama group on Facebook, as reported by Slate. Slate explained that "she withdrew from the Obama group at 6 a.m. Monday, after Slate sent her an inquiry about it." The article's author, Lucy Morrow Caldwell, was able to see Caroline Giuliani's profile because she is a Harvard student. more ›

Giuliani's Quiet Presence at Daughter's Graduation

Yesterday, Caroline Giuliani graduated from her private high school, and the tabloids were on hand to note the seating arrangement: Mother Donna Hanover, step-dad Ed Oster, and brother Andrew Giuliani were sitting near the front, while father Rudy Giuliani and step-mom Judi Nathan sat in the balcony. more ›

No Love Lost Between Judi And Rudy's Kid

No Love Lost Between Judi And Rudy's Kid

A new wrinkle to the Rudy Giuliani presidential campaign that doesn't involve the words "anti-" (like anti-gun, anti-abortion, and anti-straight-only marriage) or "marrying his cousin." Yesterday, the NY Times revealed that Andrew Giuliani had been estranged from Rudy Giuliani, because of problems with his dad's new wife. more ›

Andrew Giuliani Grows Up

Andrew Giuliani Grows Up

If it's Sunday, it must be time to contemplate little Andrew Giuliani. He could be dating Sarah Hughes, as they appeared at the premiere of The Island together. And the Daily News has two features on him (1 and 2), looking at how he's grown up as well as his burgeoning golf career. In fact, little Giuliani plays at the public golf course at Van Cortlandt Park:

"I love this city. I'd rather play here than anywhere. I take a lot of pride in Van Cortlandt and being from New York City."
And the Van Cortlandt golf course was the first public course in the country! Still, when we think Andrew, we think Chris Farley's impression. more ›

The Little Giuliani

The Little Giuliani

The NY Post had an item about Andrew Giuliani, son of Rudy, just missing the cut to play in the Barclay's Classic, a golf tournament in Westchester, and Gothamist thought, "Wow, he is almost all growed up!" Because when we think of Andrew Giuliani, we think of Rudy's inaugural speech, where Andrew climbed all over his dad, becoming a national punchline. And it started a few great spoofs on Saturday Night Live with Chris Farley as Andrew and Kevin Nealon as Gooliani, plus Tim Meadows as David Dinkins. These days, the Mayor's kids are relegated to their ponies and studies! more ›

Rudy 'n' Judi

Rudy 'n' Judi

Rudy Giuliani and companion Judith Nathan were married yesterday by Mayor Bloomberg at Gracie Mansion. Gothamist likes the idea of having a press conference right after the wedding - it's very romantic. We were also shocked when we saw the pictures of Caroline and Andrew Giuliani, especially Andrew. Gothamist is very fond of Chris Farley's performance as a clambering, fat, hyper Andrew Giuliani during Rudy's inauguration and we're sure all of you are, too. more ›
