April showers lasted one day into May with an entertaining thunder and lightning display last night. A big high pressure system over northern Ontario is slowly making its influence felt over New York. A bit of moisture and clouds are still with us, so far keeping the afternoon cooler than expected. Once that moisture is pushed away temperatures are expected to jump to around 70.

In bad but not shocking news, the American Lung Association has basically failed NYC for having very polluted air. In fact, all the boroughs got F's except for Brooklyn which got a D. Let's see: Manhattan gets the F because it's overpopulated (Central Park may have hundreds of acres, but it can't reverse the effects of whatever is coming out of skyscrapers); Staten Island has dumps; Queens has two airports; the Bronx has lots of highway traffic and doesn't seem to get a break, period. Could the sea air from Brooklyn's coast be helping out?
