Oops! WNBC's Mistake Causes Problems for St. Louis TV Station WNBC issued an apology for putting on their website a list of baseball players who were expected to be mentioned in the Mitchell Report. The apology was also given on air by Jonathan Dienst, who did mention they received the names from two sources. The Fox owned and operated television station in St. Louis, KTVI, picked up on the erroneous list and lead their 11.......

Mets 2, Cardinals 1 (11 innings): No matter how many times the Mets beat the Cardinals in the regular season, the sting from last year's loss in the National League Championship Series won't disappear until New York takes a pennant. Going 4-0 in their first four games against the Cardinals this season doesn't hurt, though. Shawn Green hit a 3-2 pitch off the scoreboard in right field to give the Mets a walk-off win.......

Not everyone was forunate enough to score Game 7 tickets, or didn't want to spend 4x the ticket price for them. Instead we are here with friends live blogging the Cardnials vs Mets! The Cardinals' Jeff Suppan is a better pitcher, but we don't think he'll have the night he had during Game 3. Oliver Perez has a lot to prove, but manager Willie Randolph will pull him and throw everyone in the bullpen......

After making quick work of the Dodgers in the division series, the Mets start a four-of-seven series against the Cardinals tonight. As they stand four wins away from the World Series, the Mets look across at a team that -- like the Dodgers -- could be vulnerable on the mound, especially in the bullpen. The Cardinals have been inconsistent all year, and their pitching has been a big reason why. Throughout the regular season,......

-Mets 8 Cardinals 7: It is a very real possibility that these two teams will be facing off in October with a trip to the World Series on the line. If that does happen, the Mets took a huge psychological advantage with their win tonight. Down 7-1, Carlos Delgado hit a grand slam; his second home run of the game and Carlos Beltran sent them home happy in the ninth with a two-run blast off......

-Mets 6 Toronto 1: Isn’t it weird that the Mets only trip to Canada is against a team from the American League? What isn’t weird is David Wright delivering another clutch hit; a three-run homer. While Albert Pujols will win it, Wright should be in consideration for NL MVP all the way to the end. Tom Glavine rebounded from three tough starts to go seven innings and allow only one run while picking up his......

Both local baseball games lost this afternoon. The Yankees lost to the Rangers, 6-2, splitting the four game series. Jared Wright was impressive for 6 innings, but was tagged for 3 runs in the 7th inning. Johnny Damon, who is playing with a foot injury, was slotted in at DH for the game. In St. Louis, the Mets continued to struggle on the road, losing their 3rd consecutive road series by losing to the Cardinals......

With about two hours left before a contractual deadline, the Yankees and Hideki Matsui inked a four-year, $52 million deal for the outfielder to remain in pinstripes. The contract makes Matsui the highest played Japanese player in the Majors, with a yearly salary that is $2 million more than Ichiro Suzuki has with the Seattle Mariners. Arn Tellem, Matsui's agent, was pleased that a deal was reached and that 31 year-old Matsui "hopes to retire......

Six years after announcing Baseball's [no-Latino] All-Century team, Major League Baseball unveiled their "Latino Legends" team before last night's World Series game. The team was selected by fan voting with several local players making the team, Pedro Martinez of the Mets, Alex "I'm a Dog" Rodriguez and Mariano Rivera of the Yankees, Manny Ramirez who despite not wanting to play for the Mets and being on the Red Sox, is actually from Washington Heights, and......
