Toddler Hitler's Dad: "Enough's Enough"

The NJ father who gave his children Nazi-themed names gave an interview with MyFoxNY, to decry his family's treatment by the state authorities. Heath Campbell complained that his children were removed from their home only because of their names—and that the state isn't taking care of his kids.

Toddler Hitler's Mom: "I Just Want My Children Back"

Speaking out—in violation of court order—about the removal of her Nazi-named children from her home, NJ resident Deborah Campbell tells the Easton Express-Times, "My husband and I would never abuse our children. I just want my children back. I'm begging people to stand behind us and for an attorney to come forward." Campbell's husband Heath had created a media frenzy when publicized Shop-Rite's refusal to inscribe a third birthday cake with son Adolf Hitler (Campbell)'s name. Their local police chief believes that attention prompted others to come forward with accusations against the parents and arousing the concern of family services (who claim the kids weren't taken because of their names, but due to other danger). Adolf Hitler, Joyce Lynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie's parents' hearing has been postponed because they haven't found a lawyer yet.

Safety Concerns Over <strike>Baby</strike> Toddler Hitler & Sibs

Following up on news that little Adolf Hitler Campbell—of the birthday cake cause celebre—and his siblings JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell were removed from their parents' care and put into NJ state custody: The Express-Times reports, according to a Holland Township police sergeant, "New Jersey officials assured him it had nothing to do with the siblings' Nazi-inspired names"—"It was other matters." Parents Heath and Deborah Campbell are scheduled to appear at a hearing today. Last month, following the hubbub over his son's name, Heath Campbell told the Express-Times, "I'm sorry if I hurt the world but it's just a name to us. Maybe when he (Adolf Hitler Campbell) gets older they'll just see that he loves everybody and they'll say, 'You know, maybe we did misjudge.'"

Baby Hitler Taken From Parents

Three-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell, whose family's attempt to get him a birthday cake made him an instant object of sympathy (his parents, not so much), was taken from his parents by NJ authorities. According to Lehigh Valley Live, "New Jersey's Division of Youth and Family Services took the 3-year-old, as well as JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, 1, and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, who turns 1 in April" from their home. It's unclear why the children were taken, but Holland Township police Chief David Van Gilson "said his department received no reports of abuse or negligence." Parents Heath and Deborah Campbell are expected to attend a hearing today.

Last night, on Countdown with Keith Olbermann, the number 1 news story was the topic that suddenly gripped a nation: The saga of ShopRite refusing to inscribe a cake for little Adolf Hitler Campbell. Olbermann was charmed by Wal-Mart's statement explaining why they agreed to provide a cake and then brought in fellow MSNBC talk show host Rachel Maddow to riff on the subject.

When you name your baby Hitler—or, in this case, Adolf Hitler Campbell—perhaps you are stacking the deck against him. A NJ family is upset that ShopRite refused to personalize a cake with "Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler." The boy's father, Heath Campbell, a "Nazi fan" (his other kids are JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlyn Hinler Jeannie) and Holocaust denier who decorates his home with swastikas, told reporters yesterday, "There's a new president and he says it's time for a change. Well, then it's time for a change. They need to accept a name. A name's a name. The kid isn't going to grow up and do what [Hitler] did." ShopRite offered to write "Happy Birthday" with room for the Campbells to inscribe it themselves, but the outraged family took their business to Wal-Mart, which apparently supplied little Adolf's earlier cakes. For levity: Top 10 rejected names for Adolf Hitler Campbell ("9. Dahmer Amin Stalin Telemarketer Campbell").
