It allowed Ramon Ortiz to look like Johan Santana by managing only one run in eight innings off the right-hander. Mike Mussina left this game with a hamstring injury in the third inning, leaving an already short-handed rotation even thinner. The Yankees are off Thursday before starting a series in Oakland on Friday.
