If you've never played petanque, head on down to Smith Street for North America's largest petanque tournament -- the two block stretch betweeen Bergen and Pacific will be shut down and covered with sand just for the occasion. Gotta love summer -- cold beer, beaches, summer flings and, of course, barbecue. Another 'cue festival is upon us -- this time it's BBQ NYC on August 26th. We're giving you some advance warning on this one because spots are going quickly. For $40, you get to hang out on Ward's Island for all you can eat BBQ, and 5 beer/wine tickets. This year's theme is "A Celebration of Texas BBQ," featuring slow smoked cow, pork and chicken by Big Island / Hill Country BBQ; Elgin Hot Links from Meyer's; Alderwood Smoked Salmon by Stephen J. Silverberg. esq.; plenty of sides and traditional Texas fixin's. They're also doing a pot luck of sorts -- if you are one of the first 20 who make a donation with a a note saying you're bringing a dessert or one of the first 20 who donate with a note saying they're bringing an hors d'oeuvre, you'll get bumped to the front of the food lines. PARTY: Superheroes are all over the big screen this summer, so come celebrate one of the originals. Lynda Carter: A Celebration of the Birth and Life of a Wonderful Woman is a party going on tonight with Shakey and Justin Carter (from Nublu). They invite you to come celebrate the 55th birthday of Wonder Woman! There will be a best Wonder Woman costume contest and "revelers are also invited to bring a record of their favorite wonder woman to play during the evening."

Join Tuscan native Chef Cesare Casella and his team at Maremma as they make special dishes featuring the traditional Tuscan beef -- Chianina (pronounced kee-a-nee-na). Today Gothamist has quite the conundrum on its hands…with so many good shows happening this week all over our fair city, how do we narrow it all down?
