City Councilman Jumaane Williams isn't the only City Councilperson to have a run in with the NYPD at a parade this year. Though his arrest at the West Indian Parade was definitely worse, what with the whole arrested thing, UWS Councilwoman Gale Brewer apparently had her own tough time with the police at the Gay Pride Parade this year, and she's decided to talk about it. Ex-Cop Convicted Of Sexual Abuse
A former Community Affairs officer working out of Harlem's 28th Precinct was convicted of sexually abusing two women, who claimed he used his position as a cop to promise them jobs or child care, get their contact information and later victimize them. Justice Daniel FitzGerald revoked his bail and said, "It tears into the fabric of the relationship between every police officer and the public." Rosario, who claimed that the charges were part of a conspiracy against him, now faces a rape trial for a separate incident; he was already convicted to coercing an 18-year-old into performing oral sex on him in exchange for ripping up a summons.
