Boy Flees From Kidnapping Attempt In Astoria

A man between 30 and 40-years-old allegedly tried to abduct an 8-year-old boy in Astoria Wednesday morning and the police are on the search for him. Police said the man, who was wearing a beige baseball cap, gray hoodie, and a long gray overcoat, grabbed the boy by the wrist and pulled him along saying "Come go with me." The boy broke away from the man and ran crying for help; his mother tried to confront him but he got away. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or online.

Brazilian Court Rules Against NJ Dad's Custody Fight Again

After several days of headlines in which an infamous South American tryst lasted longer than expected, David Goldman must have felt like salt was being rubbed in his wounds this week. Now a Brazilian court has once again ruled against Godman in his battle to get custody of his 8-year-old son Sean, who was brought there 5 years ago from Goldman's now late ex-wife and currently in the custody of the Brazilian man she remarried. A federal judge overturned an earlier ruling that will put Sean into the hands of his stepdad six days a week until the ultimate custody ruling comes down—whenever that may be. While reports have surfaced that his son wishes to remain in Brazil, Goldman claims that the stepfather and his son's maternal grandparents are "brainwashing to boy" and "wreaking untold psychological damage on him." Goldman continues to be assisted by his local Congressman in Tinton Falls, Chris Smith, in fighting for the over 70 American children that Goldman claims are being illegally kept in Brazil alone.

Brazilian Court Suspends Return of NJ Boy on 5-Year 'Vacation'

A New Jersey man who has been attempting to get his son returned from Brazil for the past five years was hours away from regaining custody—only to have a judge intervene and put the kibosh on it once again. David Goldman's son Sean has been living in Rio de Janeiro since his mother Bruna took him down there for a vacation in 2004, divorced Goldman, remarried and never returned. Last year, she died while giving birth to a child with her new husband, whom Sean, 9, now lives with. The case for Sean's return to his Tinton Falls home has become an international political battle led by NJ Congressman Chris Smith and echoed by Secretary of State Clinton. A Brazilian federal judge had issued an order Monday granting Goldman custody, but yesterday a Supreme Court justice intervened, suspending the order. David Goldman called the move "heartbreaking and disgraceful” and his lawyer said, “Brazil needs to define itself as either a nation of laws or a nation that harbors and protects child abductors.” The Brazilian Supreme Court must take up the case now.

Man Mugged, Kidnapped in Williamsburg

Yikes! The Brooklyn Paper's police blotter details a kidnapping/mugging in Williamsburg. They report that on May 22 two perps armed with a semi-automatic pistol snatched up a Brooklyn man on Kent and North 9th around 10:30 p.m. While he was in the car (a white four-door sedan with tinted windows), they covered his eyes and emptied his pockets, taking his wallet and cellphone. They then drove to a bank on Broadway and forced the PIN number out of their victim, withdrawing around $200 from his account. Once they were done with him, about a half hour after first picking him up, they dropped him at South 11th Street between Berry and Wythe, leaving him 5 bucks for a cab. The victim managed to flag down a cop on Bedford to report the crime, which the paper says mirrors a similar incident from earlier in the month. In general, it's probably not a good idea to walk alone down the deserted Kent Avenue at night.

More details have emerged on yesterday's arrest of Clark Rockefeller, whose wife divorced him after learning that his claimed membership in the Rockefeller dynasty was totally bogus. Rockefeller allegedly abducted his daughter last Sunday from a street in Boston; yesterday afternoon the FBI arrested him and took the daughter (pictured) into custody unharmed.

After a weeklong search, this afternoon the FBI found Clark Rockefeller and his kidnapped 7-year-old daughter, Reigh "Snooks" Boss in Baltimore. The NY Post did not have many details to offer up other than that Clark was taken into police custody and that Reigh is "safe and sound." In Boston, where the child was first abducted, officials said that they would hold a press conference later this evening.

As authorities continue to look for Clark Rockefeller and his 7-year-old daughter Reigh Boss, who he abducted during a social worker-supervised visit in Boston on Sunday, the woman who drove the pair from Boston to NYC said she had no idea she helped in the kidnapping. Aileen Ang was offered $500 to drive Rockefeller to NYC; she told a radio station, "I actually thought it was just going to be him. And when I got where I was going to pick him up ... his daughter was there." She said Reigh, who lives in London with her mother, seemed happy, saying, "I love you too much Daddy." But after dropping them off at Grand Central Terminal, Ang heard that the child was missing and went to the police. Authorities have been looking for the pair in NYC and Long Island (Rockefeller, described as a "con man" with four aliases, apparently bought a $300,000 yacht with gold bars), but a person said she saw them in Delaware.

The FBI, Coast Guard, and police from Boston and NYC continued to look for a 4-year-old girl and her father, after he abducted the child in Boston on Sunday. The authorities say Clark Rockefeller (not related to the well-known Rockefeller family) grabbed his daughter, Reigh, during a social worker-supervised visit and got into an SUV; the social worker held onto the vehicle and was dragged a distance. Then a female friend drove Rockefeller and Reigh to Grand Central Terminal; when she realized the child was missing, she went to a Queens station house and said Rockefeller mentioned heading to Bermuda. However, the Daily News reports "Rockefeller...may have given her wrong information expecting that she might later go to police." Rockefeller, who is described as a "con man" with "four aliases," has a yacht on Long Island.

Authorities are looking for 7-year-old Reigh Rockefeller, who was "abducted by her father during a supervised visit." Originally, the police issued an Amber Alert but then canceled it, learning that Clark Rockefeller and his daughter are now apparently in NYC. According to 1010WINS, they "may have been dropped off near Grand Central Station at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday," on their way to Long Island to pick up a boat. Also, the police were 'looking for a black SUV with a Red Sox license plate and numerous Red Sox stickers on the rear window."
