Yankees 7 Toronto 3: The Yankees signed Andruw Jones to make occasional starts against left handed pitchers and provide some offensive punch against them. Wednesday he did his job perfectly. Jones launched two home runs, part of a 3-for-3 day and drove in 4 runs as the Yankees cruised to an easy win in the final game of the homestand. Freddy Garcia was the beneficiary of the offense as he won his third game of the year and Mariano Rivera appeared in his 1,000th game. more ›

  • Auburn 7, Brooklyn 1: Major League playoffs start in October, but the short-season New York-Penn League's wrap up in September. Dillon Gee turned in five quality innings, but Stephen Clyne gave up three runs in the sixth as the Cyclones lost Game 1 of the Championship Series.
