The NY Post reports that one of the wrenches in solving the Linda Stein murder case has been removed; the blood found mixed with Stein's in her bathroom has been identified. Previously referred to as the blood of a mysterious "Male A," it turns out it was that of Officer Anthony Seguinot's, who "accidentally contaminated the crime scene by washing his hands before the final forensic examination of the bathroom sink." The Dept. of Health is looking into why hundreds of New Yorkers were informed that they tested positive for HIV infection after an oral exam, when in fact they were HIV negative. The non-infected status was determined by a follow-up blood test that was administered immediately. Still--pretty scary. Lawyers for Natavia Lowery, the personal assistant accused of killing Linda Stein, are arguing in the press that a recently released forensics report practically exonerates their client from the crime.
