In what has become an annual tradition, the four baby falcons born a few weeks ago at 55 Water Street were tagged and named yesterday in a ceremony overseen by the Department of Environmental Protection and 9/11 nonprofit Hope for Warriors, whose headquarters are located in the downtown building. The falcons were named after first responders who died on 9/11 and U.S. soldiers killed or injured overseas.

Congratulations are in order today for Rocky and Jubilee, the proud new parents of four baby peregrine falcons (or eyasses, as they're properly known) on the rooftop nest at 55 Water St.

Yesterday one lucky blogger got to join Chris Nadareski from the NYC DEP as he tagged four (2 male, 2 female) month old peregrine falcons from a 55 Water Street nest. This is where adult falcons Jack and Diane moved into in 1999, though presumably the offspring pictured are Jack and Jill's (Diane is in retirement at Cornell)—read their full story here.
1,600 Wall Street Jobs Head To Jersey City
Many of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corp.'s employees will have to leave their 55 Water Street offices, because the company has agreed to move 1,600 jobs to Jersey City. Of course, those employees won't need to pack up that soon—the move is planned for 2013.
