It's a miracle worthy of a 24 season finale! Actor Kiefer Sutherland and Jack McCollough, the fashion designer Sutherland allegedly headbutted after the Costume Institute gala, issued a joint statement to the AP. Sutherland, "I am sorry about what happened that night and sincerely regret that Mr. McCollough was injured," while the Proenza Schouler designer said, "I appreciate Mr. Sutherland's statement and wish him well."

Start spreading the "news": The next season of Fox's terrorist crime thriller 24 will be set right here in New York City. After seven seasons in LA and one in DC, "Day 8" of the series will unfold in the Big Apple. Sources also tell Entertainment Weekly that next season "CTU will make a comeback under the leadership of a new, yet-to-be-cast male character by the name of Brian Hastings. Described as an MBA type with a razor sharp intellect, Hastings will be joined by two new twentysomething agents (one male, one female), as well as Mary Lynn Rajskub's returning Chloe." Will the Counter Terrorist Unit clash with the NYPD, just like in real life? Will Bauer spend half the episode waiting for the friggin' F train? Or maybe save New Yorkers from evildoing photographers? The narrative possibilities are seemingly endless here, but don't expect to glean any plot clues by following the production around town—when shooting begins next month, most of it will still happen in LA.

Janeane Garofalo was one of the definitive comedians of the '90s. Her mix of deadpan sarcasm with heartfelt (and often angry) earnestness would set the bar for what has become an ever growing "alternative" comedy scene throughout this decade. She still is very much a part of that scene, performing around town regularly at places like UCB and Union Hall with local staples such as Eugene Mirman and Todd Barry. Tomorrow she'll be co-hosting a stand-up show with Best Week Ever's Paul F. Tompkins at the new 92YTribeca in a showcase that features an all-star lineup that includes both David Cross and Kristen Schaal amongst others.
